Matt
Who do you think it was then? Kelly? Day? Rachubka? Goram!? Yikes remember Cardiff at home! That was the hardest days graft Goram had done for ages... Or is is simply Big Les! (Not included A.Legzdins, not really enough exposure to get an opinion)

Matt
Has he figured since 96/97 season? I'm thumbing through my almanacs as we speak!!!
Stevie_J
Did Hallworth?
davegtt
lol probably not. You just dont realise 1997 was 10 years ago do you time flys... Carry on...lol
Matt
Hallworth played 6 games, early in the season 96/97. As I recall he the went to cardiff soonafter...
Stevie_J
Hallworth played 6 games, early in the season 96/97. As I recall he the went to cardiff soonafter... I thought it must be pretty close. Still, he's leading on the strength of those six games.
RoytonBlueLad
We've had some decent keepers over the years looking at that list.
outoftheblue
Gerrard moved on in '96, but surely he wouldn't have been a contender anyway? I've gotta be honest and say I never rated him at all (remember that terrible display of gifted goals down at White Hart Lane?) he's the worst kicker I have seen at BP in my 36 years of watching. Could knock his ale back though - all credit to him there!!
RoytonBlueLad
Kelly was a bargain at 10k. Good bit of business from Sharp there. Well he had to get one signing right! Goram coming back was desperate times call for desperate measures. Sadly he played terribly and we conceded seven! Still kept a clean sheet at Huddersfield though! tactically_naive
Grant was the best IMO. Always looked safe as houses, despite the iffy defence in front of him. Pogs is a close 2nd though.
Matt
You forget the input Grant and other "cameos" had on the team when we were well, struggling really. Pogs is the best for me but as you say, Grant made a big impact.
Prendy_1984
Pogs kept us up in that last match of the season against Bradford only 2 seasons ago. Without him playing so well in that game I doubt we would be were we are now
footy68
Grant made a big impact. Indeed. Port Vale at home, his first game. A lame shot from afar. Everything after that was spot on.
Beardy
Pogs for me OK his kicking wasnt up to much but if you look at him now, he looks more of a keeper than 3 years ago! Grant is second, he was a great signing shame we couldnt keep him! I missed a lot of games at the back end of 99/00/01 due to work, so i missed a few! beag_teeets
Les for me, no doubt about it. Best shot stopper we have had too, I back him to save most penalties too. Kicking has improved and he bleeds latics blood.
slurms mckenzie
Hail super Pogs.
Rocky_Latic
Poggy's clean sheet record in the playoff season, and this season so far speaks for itself. Gary Kelly was a quality keeper, given his height and the players infront of him.
OAFC_PROUD
Goram for me (not the second time) what a keeper, oh and he could drink, as my dad told me, one night in royton cricket club lets just say AT was being served! No wonder he got on so well up in smell socks land.
