Really enjoyable game to watch. It had that top of the table feel to it, played at an intense level. FGR are the best footballing side I’ve seen for a while, though that doesn’t guarantee you the points. Loved the high press from ours, especially first half, giving them no time to settle, and again when Khan and Garner came on.

I’d conclude it’s the difference in style of play from bringing in players with ability on the ball, pace and greater movement, rather than the opposition which gives cause for optimism.

I can’t argue with any of that. Maybe MM wants Ridehalgh in as cover at LB and CB instead of Hogan. Willoughby wasn’t playing tonight, but from what I’ve seen I agree with the York fans who said he’s not up to NL level.

Yeah, him and Ogle played well. Burgess had a blinder for Southport. Philliskirk and Renshaw also played for them. They were far more physical with plenty of tackles flying in. We were toothless up top.

I’d imagine at least one on loan striker is a priority with the two long term injuries. A holding midfielder and a wide player and we’re probably done, unless we lose Hudson.

Looked more like he played right side in a back 3. Kitching and Kay wing backs. Hobson went wide when Hudson had the ball, otherwise was right, and Monthe left side of Raglan who was central.

Latics second favourites at 10/1 with Bet365. Barnet 7/1. York at 16/1 looks decent value to me.

Mate of mine who knows Dan Pike (right back at Tranmere) has said an agreement is in place for him coming to us in the summer.

Chesterfield played a very high defensive line giving us and especially Dallas lots of space to run into behind them. Front two were excellent today and was good to see Dallas having a positive impact. Is Hobson injured?

Is your assumption with Unsworth’s players or having had the summer to recruit his own players?

With having had Unsworth as manager for the first 9 league games and the players we have, how many points behind Chesterfield wouldn’t be a disgrace at this stage?
