  1. You're being extremely sympathetic towards Mellon here and you need to go further with your opinion. I can't stand this happy-clapping section of our fanbase, they need to start living in the real world...
  2. If we aren't going to win every match, then I'd take 2 wins and 2 draws in the league this month. 12 league games unbeaten and 1 defeat in 16 would keep us in the chasing pack.
  3. EDIT: I knew Williamson had been sacked by MK, but forgot that Carlisle had appointed him. That's yet another blow for Gateshead, but they always seem to come out of these situations stronger so I wouldn't be surprised if they hire another good manager.
  4. Home is good, Halifax is a bit of a dull draw and certainly trickier than it could've been.
  5. In the last 8 days we've shown that we can dominate games and get late winners against mid-table sides and teams at the bottom, as well as scrapping our way to wins against challengers at the top. It's been a while since a Latics team has been able to do both of those things.
  6. Even if we had ended up losing 3-1 it would've been completely deserved. Spamming the board with constant negative drivel is the problem, not whether you're right or not.
  7. But you never have, and nor should you, because we are doomed for the rest of this season and the next 21 years.
  8. We aren't creating enough good chances, but we are dominating all other areas and look far superior to them. Will be interesting to see how Ebbsfleet play it in the 2nd half, I hope the try to go toe-to-toe with us because I could definitely see us wearing them down in the 2nd half. If they sit in they might get their 0-0.
  9. Went to this fixture last year, they were 21st and we were 5th so pretty similar to this season. Despite being a dour 0-0 they looked like a better team than we did, with only the defence and Hudson coming out with any real credit. With hindsight it was a performance (and not the only one sadly) that indicated that the foundations weren't in place for a promotion push. This will be a good test to see if we can comfortably control the game and show that we're ready to consistently perform and challenge up the top for the whole season.
