  1. One of my favourite aways outside the usual lot that. Hadn't won all season, sure they were riding high as well, early September under the lights at the City Ground and we were superb.
  2. Top of the group. Good night's work all round. November the next one, looking forward to it.
  3. Could have got injured instead training today. Much worse. Could have tripped up getting his cup of tea and hobnobs during the break in Emmerdale.
  4. Could have got injured instead of training today. Much worse. Could have tripped up getting his cup of tea and hobnobs during the break in Emmerdale.
  5. Great half. Only one team in it. Reid scoring a fantastic Alex Reid esque goal. Charsley looking as good as he did before the injury. Could do with a few more goals for the goal difference but overall a good professional half. Not sure why there are so many negative comments about this, it gives certain players game time, helps get others match fit coming back from injury and gives a competitive match to those not involved. For those saying players could get injured, they could just as easily get injured in training. Some families might have gone tonight who cannot afford to pay £25 for a league game with two kids etc .. No issue with those that aren't interested but others are for certain reasons.
  6. He's named a pretty strong side to be fair. Surprised Doro & Moore aren't in from the start but it signals Mickys intentions. He wants to win this.
  7. Strong team. Raglan captains us. HC7 is back. First look at the new striker Stretton. Stoke named a very young side. Should be a comfortable home win.
  8. So the big one kicks off tonight. Micky details here how he looks to use the cup - https://www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/sport/24621967.new-national-league-cup-key-oldham-athletic-duo/ Be good to see Charsley and Kay get a few competitive minutes under their belt before the weekend. Important game in terms of the competition also, in terms of a group of 8 and their being just four games with only the top two going through, it feels like you're going to have to win three to progress. Even that might not be enough. Interesting to see what team he goes with, on one hand it'd shock me to see Norwood play, but then again he did only come off the bench at weekend and the minutes could do him well. Will be good for our younger lads, Doro, Kofi & Will to get some competitive action as well, can't be doing them good not playing at all. For those that are interested @BradKnowles1 advised on another thread it's free to watch on NLTV
  9. So it looks like this Stoke U21 (h) - 1st October NLC Solihull Moors (h) - 5th October League Halifax Town (h) - 12th October FA Cup 15th October Potential Replay FA Cup Sutton United (a) - 19th October League Maidenhead United (a) - 22nd October League Dagenham & Redbridge (h) - 26th October League Interesting month coming up with the run we are on. All four league games look winnable on paper but on the flip it'd be easily possible to not win any of them. I do think we've a great chance to beat Solihull in the first of them. Sutton have picked up a little bit and came down with lofty expectations so will be far from an easy game. Maidenhead started very poorly but have picked up recently. A side we've a good record against and I can't see finishing much above mid-table. Dagenham another who had a decent start but haven't won in the last two. Two cup games, more than winnable. So what's people expectations, thoughts and what would be considered a good, average, poor month, would 7 be a good or steady return? I personally think we could win 3 of the 4 and that'd be a great month with progression in the cups. 7 would be a good return. Wouldn't shock me if lost at Sutton, drew at Maidenhead and then failed to win one of the home games either though. I do think Micky and the boys are onto something this season though, hoping we can find 3 wins from the 4 leagues games which I reckon would have us top two.
  10. Think they were both 2/3 weeks away around a week ago. 12th October is FA Cup Qualifying, given a good draw might be the perfect chance to reintroduce them. Also have that 'cup' game on the 1st October. Not sure if that'll be too soon for the pair but they might see half an hour. Think Charsley will add a few once he's back. Hoping Kay & Otis can add a couple. Think Dolan will bag a few if given the minutes too.
