Made all our subs after about 60 minutes and both sets of defenders played well. Centre-halves very solid.

Kelly and Jones played well, bothlook like good signings. As does Dieng. Took his goal with possibly his 1st or 2nd touch. Winchester also impressed in the middle.

Forte got round the fullback a couple of times and got some good crosses in. Gros is a big lump but got his goal, a shot on his left that went through their keeper.

Athleticos sang throughout.

Happy happy.

Hopes: The new signings all gell and we have season in the top half of the league, pushing for a play-off place. Richards is sold for over-the-odds and we get the North Stand up well ahead of schedule. JCH and Philliskirk push-on with their development and score plenty of goals.

Fears: The team don't gel and we spend another season battling to stay out of the bottom 4. The North Stand goes all 'Port Vale' and we end up playing in a yellow away kit.

Expectation: Mid-table. Stand gets finished around Feb. JCH scores around 15 goals and goes to warm a bench in the Championship.

 

I wonder if our new shirt will be like Carlisle's, but with a broad blue stripe making it more traditional?

Think Carlisle's design is a throw-back to a classic 1970's design. Wonder if were in for a similar throw-back too.

Carlisle have had some decent strips in the past but they're an awful design, in my opinion.

I'm not overly-arsed what Latics wear, but Sondico kits look cheap.

I thought I'd read a few weeks back that he got a role at Norwich with Neil Adams.

I can safely say it wasn't.

There was a picture in yesterday's Chron of the injury, and it was fairly grim.

Would like to see him against better opposition first.

The 2 sides fielded tonight both looked decent. Mills played well and reminded us of what a good crosser of the ball he is. JCH took his goals well and the 2 CM hustled well. The trailist on the left (Forte?) looked big and powerful.

Second half Winchester played well in CM and his second goal was a classy finish. Turner and Bove were lively and Rodgers looked decent enough next to Winchester.
