  1. I presume FL clubs are still bound by the Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/financial-fair-play-explained.php, where clubs are restricted to spending 60% of turnover on players wages. However, I didn't realise that owners donations to their clubs could be included in the 'turnover' figure.
  2. 1. I'm certainly not going to watch an 84 minute video, produced by right-wing oddballs. 2. I was referring to the more educated being more pro-EU, rather than age. I'm not young!
  3. Is there a word for having a chronic short-term cash flow problem?
  4. As a Euro-sceptic I have been sitting on the fence. However, the 'debate' amongst our political leaders hasn't helped, and seems to have degenerated into 'project fear' versus 'project lies'. From what I've observed there are two main threads going on, and your primary concern may determine how you vote. Those whose main concern is about trade and the economy seem to favour 'remain', and those whose main concern is about the free movement of people and migration seem to favour 'leave'. During the referendum campaign I've found some interesting statistical information. One is that "Germany and Britain have historically been the largest contributors to the EU. On a per capita basis Britain is now the eighth largest contributor to the EU (behind the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Austria and France)." https://inews.co.uk/essentials/news/uk/much-pay-european-union-facts/. The second is: Which type of person wants to leave, and which type wants to remain? You Gov recently conducted a poll looking at, amongst other things, the affect of age, education, and social class on EU support (I really should be a pro-Europe enthusiast!). http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/03/21/eu-referendum-who-in-britain-wants-to-leave-and-who-wants-to-rem/ My greatest concern is the long term impact on the UK economy and how new trade agreements would develop in a revised political landscape. As such I've decided to jump down on the 'remain' side, although a 'leave' result would be more politically interesting! We'll see. Whatever you think, please vote.
  5. "The Chronicle can reveal that Adams - said to be very keen on the role - was interviewed by club directors yesterday." http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/10/oldham-athletic-news/98496/adams-in-job-talks I presume, at least as a matter of courtesy, that Shirtliff has been interviewed, and that Dowie has been contacted by Corney. Wonder who the other 3 interviewees were?
  6. Two players have agreed new contracts at Shrewsbury. The length of these deals is undisclosed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36491030
  7. Maybe the presumption - based on the bookies odds - that Bunn had got the job was a little premature.
  8. Isn't a certain Joe Royle involved in the youth set-up at Everton?
  9. As well as his Youth Team positions Bunn has also worked as a Reserve Team Coach at Man City, First Team Coach - under Iain Dowie - at Coventry City, and Assistant Manager at Rochdale. He also had a short spell as Coventry's Caretaker Manager when Dowie was sacked.
  10. Frankie's job title is / was Senior Professional Development Coach.
  11. It's not a bunn deal yet! The 2 sides haven't agreed on how much bread he'll get. If they can't agree, following a frank discussion, the deal could be toast.
  12. "While the fee remains undisclosed, reports across the Pennines are suggesting a £100,000 deal for the 20-year-old prospect." http://www.examiner.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/huddersfield-town-sign-oldham-athletic-11438265
  13. It would also be a novelty, as it would be the reverse of the situation when they were both at Rochdale.
  14. Dickov linked with Hibs job. http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/hibernian/rumour-mill-paul-dickov-in-frame-for-hibs-boss-rangers-target-tibi-pringle-and-ball-1-4145216
  15. A poll question only allows up to 20 answers, and there's already 20 on the list!
  16. "White will become assistant goalkeeping coach to Neil Moss with the Cherries. He will also be Bournemouth's goalkeeping specific strength and conditioning coach in a newly created role." http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/10/oldham-athletic-news/98328/cherries-picked
  17. We've had a lot of experience of this over the last few years! The names have been culled from OWTB suggestions, bookies odds, and the usual suspects. I've turned Steve Eyre into Steve Evans and replaced Dean Saunders with Neil Adams - just for a bit of last-minute fun!!
  18. He'd make a good first team coach, but I'm not so sure about being manager. However, he does want to get back in to the game. The cheap, and quick, option is Shirtliff - which is a bit worrying!
  19. Saying Corney Out is an exercise in futility. He'll only go if someone puts up the money to buy the club, and I would guess that anyone buying the club would also want the land and the OEC. Then we are talking £10m plus.
  20. Along with Alan Smith according to http://www.nottinghampost.com/Alan-Smith-Mark-Crossley-John-Sheridan-s-Notts/story-29325282-detail/story.html No mention of Peter Shirtliff. And we failed with a last-ditch bid to keep Shez by offering him a pay rise, according to http://www.nottinghampost.com/Oldham-fail-ditch-bid-stop-John-Sheridan-moving/story-29327712-detail/story.html
