  1. Yeovil mentioned - on another forum - as a possible destination!!!
  2. Hernia injury, but should be back shortly according to Mike Keegan.
  3. If it's a Championship club fair enough, but Crawley - :censored:ing Crawley! Have they had some investment as their attendances are worse than ours?
  4. I presume the above is an example of safe standing or rail seating, which looks like it would cost a lot to introduce. Pukka is right, the majority of fans in the main stand are of the older variety. You would really give them something to moan about if you tried to introduce (safe) standing. The obvious place is the Chaddy - funds permitting of course!
  5. As O4U has suggested, this merits one minutes silence before the cup game. RIP
  6. If he was the young Centre Back we had on loan from Everton in the 1990s, then your dad was spot on.
  7. Looks like Liverpool have sold all their tickets! http://www.liverpoolfc.com/tickets/latest-ticket-news
  8. This was Jamie McGuire's response on Twitter last night. His spelling! JAMIE MCGUIRE ‏@JAMIEMCGUIRE23 To all you fickle Oldham fans abuseing me on hear I've spoken to James and wished him a speedy recovery and all the best for the season !
  9. Law 12 states: Careless, reckless, using excessive force: “Careless” means that the player has shown a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or that he acted without precaution. • No further disciplinary sanction is needed if a foul is judged to be careless. “Reckless” means that the player has acted with complete disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, his opponent. • A player who plays in a reckless manner must be cautioned. “Using excessive force” means that the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent. • A player who uses excessive force must be sent off. http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/laws/football-11-11/law-12---fouls-and-misconduct.aspx To me it should have been a red card.
  10. Done. http://www.thefa.com/news/the-fa-cup/2013/dec/goal-of-the-second-round-vote
  11. According to the fishal website Genseric Kusunga is 19' 8''. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/team/player-profile/index.aspx?playerid=451564&tcmuri=1031174
  12. I seem to remember us playing on Saturdays and kicking off at 3:15pm. Not sure why it was 15 minutes later than most games.
  13. Can the acoustic engineers amongst us explain why the noise from the RRE is louder than the Chaddy.
  14. Was that PCW Developmemts, which also had Blitz and Gazal on board? http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/pcw-developments
  15. I don't think I ever saw Walter play, but I do remember when he was on Jimmy Frizzell's coaching staff.
  16. Includes: "By the end of January or early February (2014) we ought to have a good idea as to the shape as the frame ought to be up. There is still a long way to go as we still have to attract tenants and also find some money."
  17. A better idea would be to replace all the 'reserved' stickers with 'this seat is reserved for league matches only' stickers. Dickov out!
  18. According to David Conn in 'The Independent' in March 2004: "To finance this dream, they (Blitz and Gazal) funded the club for three months in administration, which cost them £522,500. The preferential creditors, the Inland Revenue and VAT, were owed £715,000 and were paid 32p in the pound: £237,000. "Football Creditors" - other clubs, players and the League's pension deficit - are to be paid £428,000, while Blitz and Gazal paid £120,000 for Oldham's office equipment and other assets. Unsecured creditors, the usual victims including a £30,000 policing bill, local family firms and £1,856.50 unpaid to St John Ambulance, got nothing. The club's ongoing losses are estimated at £1m, and their shoring-up of the club adds up to £2.4m. They are paying £4.6m more for the ground and land, while guaranteeing that Boundary Park will still be a football ground in 10 years' time."
  19. " I don't really need to dig my heels in. It's our club, we own the land." Interesting use of the word 'we', as it's Blitz and Gazal who still own the land. The one-off grant was quoted as £700k in some document I read on the Oldham Council website, and in the Chron! http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/8/news/59174/corneys-grounds-for-optimism. As O4u states, the club still need to raise around £4.5m to pay for the stand.
