  3. My first season watching Latics was the promotion season of 1970/71. Fryatt and Shaw scored 50 league and cup goals between them. I was hooked, and a Latics fan for life.

  7. All this talk of pies is making me hungry. It must be time to make some: Corney beef koukash Ingredients: 200g/7oz unsalted butter 10 onions, sliced 7kg/15lb 4oz floury white potatoes, boiled and chopped into cubes 10 x 340g/12oz tins corney beef, chopped into cubes 150ml/5fl oz Worcestershire sauce small bunch curly parsley, chopped sea salt and freshly ground black pepper Preparation method: Melt the butter in frying pans until foaming and gently fry the onions for 2-3 minutes, or until softened. Add the potatoes and the corney beef and fry for 5-6 minutes, pressing down the mixture every so often with a fish slice, until the mixture is golden-brown and crisp. When the corney beef koukash is cooked, remove the pan from the heat, sprinkle over the Worcestershire sauce and parsley and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  8. Once upon a time: http://www.cnplus.co.uk/news/oldham-gives-go-ahead-for-stadium/948366.article Oldham gives go-ahead for stadium 6 June, 1996 "A 15 MILLION plan to build a new municipal sports stadium in Oldham is gathering momentum. After considering the proposal since last year, the council has finally submitted a planning application. Arguments raged over the grounds capacity, but the council eventually settled on a 15,000-seater ground at a 7 ha site in Chadderton. The Stadium Business Park will also include a restaurant, leisure centre, 8,000 sq m of offices and a small hotel. The Westwood athletics track must be relocated before work starts on the stadium and the council has submitted another application for a new track, also in Chadderton. Oldham Bears rugby league team will play at the new stadium, but the towns football club has not yet agreed to join the scheme. If Oldham Athletic stays at Boundary Park, the ground's capacity will drop to 10,000 and the cost to 7.5 million." We've been discussing a new stadium (on and off) for at least 18 years!
  9. Koukash told the Chronicle the club is aware of his position — that it is overvalued. “I value things as a business,” the Salford Red Devils owner and horse-racing magnate said. “The valuation is not ideal for what we have in mind. I know Simon Corney and the board have invited me to make a bid, but it isn’t that simple. They may have scored an own goal there.” Is this the value of the club, the land, or both?

  12. I wonder if MK is looking to buy the club from Corney, the land from Blitz and Gazal, or both?

  14. Nigel Clibbens ‏@NClibbens33m For info #htafc won't be doing any transfer deals b4 deadline.
  15. Any news of Rachubka? Is he still at Latics?
  16. Matt Chambers ‏@Matt_Chambers_1m No Tarky at Huddersfield then. Phew. #oafc
  17. Explains quite a lot. Tranmere won 1 - 0, with no shots/headers on target!
  18. Hopefully. Didn't Prozac report that the release clause was £250k. If Latics have let Baxter go for less, then they could (and should) have inserted a few clauses of their own - including a decent percentage sell-on clause.
  19. A swap deal? Wellens and £150k for Baxter!
  20. The speaker closest to the RRE has not been working this season. As such I emailed the club, and Judith replied: Thank you for your email. I realised myself on Saturday that there was a problem with the speakers so I will look into it and try to get them fixed for next Saturday. Regards Judith
