  2. 1. New stand? 2. Baxter stays? 3. Wabara returns? 4. Derbyshire on his way back? 5. Season ticket prices for 2013-2014 Not a good or a very good announcement, but a huge announcement!
  3. What's the latest time someone can sign on loan in order to play this afternoon? There's usually some deadline.
  4. MENOAFC ‏@MENOAFC Rumours Jose Baxter has signed for Posh. Would be v. surprised if so as goes against everything he has said. Wants to be near home. #oafc 9:03 PM - 11 Jan 13 ·
  5. Wabara's latest tweet! Reece Wabara ‏@ReeceWabara Decisions Decisions..
  6. Yes. 1970-71 season. Finished 3rd in the old 4th Division. And I was hooked as a Latics fan!
  7. The Ford Sporting League! That was my first season watching Latics as a kid! (Taken to BP by my Liverpool born father). According to Wiki: "Its only season was that of 1970–1971. Clubs were awarded a point for every goal scored at home and two points for every goal scored away, but lost 5 points if a player was booked and 10 points if a player was sent off. Points could be earned over the first 42 league games (it did not apply to cup ties) only, so that the First and Second divisions were on an equal footing with the Third and Fourth. Oldham Athletic won the competition, winning a pot of £70,000. League rules stipulated the prize money be used on stadium improvements, so the money went to build a stand in the stadium. The £70,000 prize fund was made up of 8 monthly prizes of £2,500 and then a final prize of £50,000. The points total was cumulative, which resulted in Oldham winning each prize available, as they picked up only four bookings and no red cards over the 42 game period." Did the club manage to build the stand for only £70k? Only 4 bookings over the season! We wouldn't win a Ford Sporting type league this season!
  8. Oldham chairman Simon Corney has hit out at the FA after being forced to hand over at least 3,000 tickets for this month’s mouth-watering FA Cup clash with Liverpool. http://menmedia.co.u...p-ticket-ruling
  9. As I was saying . . . (Wonder if they'll have a one pie only rule as well?)
  10. It might have helped if the match was on ESPN rather than ITV, but we still should be able to sell out a tie against one of the biggest names in English football. I'm old enough to remember the glory years, but for a lot of younger Latics fans this is a rare opportunity to watch a Premier League club in the flesh. In many cases the players will only be a matter of a few yards away! As for the £25 ticket price, I'm fine with that. Liverpool's concessions, apart from juniors, are 75% of the full price, so I think £20 concession ticket is a little steep. However, you could argue that juniors could have got a ST for £10. £30 for a ST and a top cup game is reasonable. A bit tough on pensioners though. However, I don't blame the club for attempting to maximise revenue. After all, the club is skint! I wonder if they'll hold back selling tickets for the smaller section of the RRE to see how tickets sales go in Liverpool and Oldham? Maybe the early birds tomorrow can let us know! As always, I'll be there. oafc1955 - ST holders normally buy a ticket for their usual seat.
  11. Do we get any ££s for our 85 seconds on ITV last night?
  12. A voucher given to all non ST holders at the Brentford game would help boost the crowd for that game. I'd then give them second priority after ST holders for cup tickets. I'd also restrict ST holders initial allocation to 1 ticket per ST holder. Why should a mate of a ST holder get priority over a non ST holder who went to the Forest game for example?
  13. I'd give the larger RRE section to Liverpool, and hold back the smaller RRE section. Whoever sells their allocation first gets the additional 1,600 tickets. On your marks . . .
