  1. I always thought it was a knee-jerk reaction or panic when a Premier League clubs sacked their Manager in August or September. The transfer window is about to close in a few days, which leaves us with short-term loan options – if we can afford them! A new Manager, which would cost the club because of the pay-off required to PD, would have the same set of players to work with! To some extent PD is living a bit of a charmed life. Can you imagine the likes of Dave Penney being given over 2 years? However, I’d still give PD 3 more months, and review options at the end of November.
  2. It could be my eyes, or my TV, but Hart looked to be wearing all purple. Incidentally, when Latics paraded the new kit at the end of last season Chaddy was wearning an all purple GK kit. Don't think we've seen that yet?
  3. The home kit this year is dark and drab, but I wouldn’t expect us to be playing any different if we were wearing last season’s kit! I think there would be one or two comments if the club did a Cardiff and changed our kit to red! However’ we could compromise with, say, tangerine! Only kidding!!
  4. Simon Corney: "We have a council consultation process for a new stand that will have a gym, restaurants, conference and banqueting facilities," he said. "It is hard to raise the finance to do it, but it is important we do and that will be our new main stand." "It will cost around £5m and the council have given us some money but a lot will come from private funding and then the new stand has to become self-funding."
  5. I was expecting a new main stand, but this is a new Broadway stand. I'd also want to know where the changing rooms, physio room, club shop and ticket office would be if the (old) main stand is 'stripped and built up again'. Could this be done during a summer? However, the plans are miles better than what we have at the moment!!
  6. I'd agree, Clattenberg had stinker that night. Given his unusual surname I remembered it, and was amazed when he popped up as a Premier League referee. But, I'm not bitter and I don't bear grudges!
  7. Just to compare the current plan with the plan for the Broadway stand in the Oldham Arena project. NORTH STAND Currently the Broadway Stand, this would become the new main stand with a seating capacity of 5,200. At ground floor level it would accommodate the main players' and executive entrances with a shop, ticketing office, cafe and restaurant, with turnstile access to the first floor concourse. Conference/banqueting facilities for up to 1000 guests would be provided for match and non-matchdays. Upper floors would house club offices, a directors' suite and executive boxes with external seating. Above third floor level would be 85,000 square feet of lettable office accommodation on up to three separate levels. Ian Hill said: "At present, large business conferences, school presentation evenings, wedding receptions and any event at which a large number of people gather are being held outside of town. "With this in mind, we propose to build facilities within our new main stand that would accommodate 500 people for banqueting and 1,000 people, theatre-style for conferences." http://stadiumdb.com...ng/oldham_arena
  8. When the sun shines it does shine on the Broadway side of the ground! The windows will also need to be strong enough given the number of balls that currently fly into the car park!
  9. I'd hope that more drawings will be put on the OS for those who can't get to BP next week. As the above drawing suggests the stand would be higher than the RRE I'm sure a few NIMBYs will complain that it is overbearing, etc. Given our budget I think it looks good.
  10. Lapsed Lookers ST holders, if they can still be identified. But given the number of ST holders we have in total, I presume anyone or everyone could move. I'm staying in the (old) main stand paddock until it's knocked down!
  11. 2 - 0 final score. Maybe one of the Trialist brothers is adopted
  12. Cheers. Hadn't noticed that there was a free voucher at the back of the ST. No reason why we can't use it for the City game.

  14. I used to love the Green Final. I'm sure it used to go to publication before the end of the match, as it didn't have the final score. Would still be delivered before 6pm though!
  15. Matt Chambers‏@Matt_chambers_ Trialists not particularly impressing. Wesolowski all over pitch, Simpson sharp and Brown/Croft combo looks good #oafc
