  1. Point taken, dont suppose it matters too much, the main thing is Be there. Will yer boy be coming to the game with you?

We've been to every fa cup game home and away, so I have to let him complete the set. My screensaver is him tackling a Kidderminster cottage pie (or horse?) Season ticket too, so this balances a lot of the dross he has had to endure.

He's the only Latics fan in his school, although there are now plenty with us as their second team, I am gradually educating them with a second ten quid ST.

  2. I live 100 miles away North from Oldham , but would still rather drive to Latics and leave the car on the car park, than leave it somewhere in Liverpool. Of course I may think different if I lived further south than Oldham.

I considered it from Bramhall for that reason, had a mare getting parked at anfield last season. But school night for my 10 year old and possible extra time and penalties, I need the quickest option. This is more an east / west than a north / south thing really.

  3. Article in The Times today says Bradford are considering not playing in the Europa League next season should they win tomorrow. They think the costs may outweigh the tv/prize money. I hope this doesn't let Libpool in by the back door, although seeing them cock it up, nearly redeem themselves to ultimately fail was entertaining.

  4. Ticket office aren't answering the phone! Some of us have to go to work to earn money to afford season tickets. I'm pretty flexible at work but getting up to BP within business hours is a bit of an unnecessary trip when I can use a device that lets me talk to someone not in the same room as me and give them my payment details.

Are they not answering at all? I've tried a couple of times over the last 2 days and just thought I was unlucky. Working during the week and hard to get there much before kick off because of my son's match. Had no problem over the phone for all the previous rounds.

  5. Also agree it would be silly at this point in time to bring in an external manager, especially considering our future in this division is still uncertain.

However, if TP is asked to do the job until the end of the season, I would like to see some of the cup money used to bring in some help for TP until then so he is having to juggle slightly less jobs.

Stitch is local, loves the club and doesn't have a full time job. He has stated he doesn't want to come back in to management but would he step in to help short term? Great publicity for him and the club. Maybe bring a few more in through the turnstiles.

  6. Who do we want in the group then? Can't decide between smaller teams like Udinese, Liverpool and Twente to give us the best chance of progression, or the giants like Ath Madrid straight away....

I would say one giant team for the glamour, and 2 small western European teams for easy away trips and a probability of finishing second in the group. We are then likely to draw a decent team in the knock out phase. Let's be realistic we aren't going to win it at our first attempt so it would be nice to play a really big name.

    Nurse!

  7. If the cup winners qualify for Chsmpions League, I'm pretty sure the Europa League spot just goes to league.

I thought losing finalists qualified in those circumstances. Can't see it ever going to semi finalists though.

    Oops bit slow there

  8. Sorry to hear that Mikey, and hopefully the tossers are caught.

Like how nothing can dampen your spirit.

CAn I check, do you mean that the only thing of real value (ie sentimental) was your dads watch?

If so get on to all the pawnbrokers in the area, it may well turn up there and 90% are legit and will call the police if it turns up.

The watch is gold so double pisser, plus a laptop, a kindle and some cash.

  9. He was legendary for leaving early to "beat the traffic" . He scarred my youngest brother and his best mate (a 12 year old Mike Keegan) for life when he left the Sheffield Wednesday end of season game in 91, missing the last 2 goals. Mike wrote a piece for the programme about it. He would have missed Smith's equaliser yesterday, I turned round to celebrate with our kid and he wasn't there, it must be in the genes.
