  1. Well I'm not worried about them, so I wouldn't expect any of our lads to be.
  2. It's not even the Alps yet. They have a rest day tomorrow, and then a few flat days and a TT this week before hitting Ventoux at the end of the longest stage of tour on Sunday. And then they hit the Alps for the last week. That last week looks a killer.
  3. Well, what do I know? That was very impressive, and not like Sky at all, from Froome.
  4. Are they still selling day 5 tickets at OT? I got a day 5 ticket for £25. Obviously it's a big risk that it won't get to 5 days, but if its anything like last time (where I was locked out near the front of the queue) then it will be £25 well spent.
  5. Michael Clarke is the only player they have we should worry about. But they should be a lot more worried about Cook. If we play well, we win. I'm slightly worried about the batting line up, because we haven't been posting big first innings totals. But our bowlers are more than capable of taking 20 wickets I'm each match. Their attack is nowhere near as good. 3 or 4-0 over here, depending on the weather. Over there is an altogether different beast... It's a tough place to go and win and not many teams do it.
  6. Sagan is ace. Was funny on the ITV podcast after Thursdays stage when they asked who was the biggest threat to his Green jersey, and he said "Crash." Tomorrow, I reckon all the GC contenders will finish together. They will put time on the rest of the field, but not each other. The TT next week, and Ventoux next Sunday is where the race will really sort itself out.
  7. What does he use his bike for? Commuting? Racing? Or just training?
  8. Stinger. I recently changed the cassette and chain on the bike I ride to work, that was only about £35 in total! What bike do you have?
  9. I almost died going over Col du Holme Moss a few weeks back. I might go up there for the stage next year to see just how fast they whizz over it.
  10. The first Bobby Womack set was very bassy. Was pretty good. All his new album which features Damon Albarn in the band (he played the first set with him). Going to have to give it a listen. Glastonbury is incredible. The only problem I found this year was that it seemed a lot busier than last time I went, so moving around became a lot harder. It was still ace though. The only other festival I even consider going to now is Kendal Calling, and that's because it has a pretty chilled feel of a very small, northern Glastonbury.
  11. I was at Kendal last year, but that wasn't me.
  12. Bobby Womack was on at West Holts. It was an easy decision to make.
  13. At this stage I'd reckon the odds are just based on recent seasons. And 4 years running of struggling in the wrong half of the table, I'm not surprised our odds are like they are.
  14. He has got a point though hasn't he? We do need a lot more players and some coaches. I wouldn't be too worried just yet, especially on the players front. But shouldn't he have got his coaching staff all sorted by now?
  15. A Latics badge should have an owl sat on a ball, as this shows. And for me, that is the thing that is wrong with this new one. The last one we had didn't need redesigning, but if they were going to do it, then it should at the very least have an owl sat on a ball. We used to have the best badge in football. We don't now.
  16. That is absolute balderdash. Croft spent the first 6 month of the season overweight, and only pulled his tripe out and trimmed down once his Derby contract was cancelled. He might have been putting a shift in during a game, but his lax attitude to his career was affecting his performances on the pitch. Until Feb he was a disappointment. Which is a shame because he obviously has the talent - but looking at how his career has gone, he obviously doesn't have the work ethic to make the most out of his ability. Baxter doesn't run round like a headless chicken. But that doesn't mean he isn't trying. Even when he doesn't play well he is usually the only player who wants the ball and tries to make something happen, and the only player we have with any creativity. Though he is guilty of the odd little (and one massive) mistake, he has still been head and shoulders ahead of every other attacking option we have got.
  17. Strange one that. He was disappointing until he lost weight, so must have won on recent form. But if it was down to recent form only, then Matt Smith should have won it. -
  18. Jose Baxter. He has been the best player by some considerable distance ever since he walked through the door. Without him, we'd have been down with Bury.
  19. Liverpool was better because we beat Liverpool, but that 94th minute equaliser was pretty damn special.
  20. You can be young and wish it was different though - http://www.standamf.com/2013/03/25/being-against-modern-football-isnt-just-for-old-gits/
  21. Losing a playoff final, I'd imagine, would be the worst possible feeling in football. It would be a million times worse than losing the semi final, and thats bad enough.
