  1. Absolutely spot on. I don't think he should have been sent off, but he did give the ref a decision to make, and the ref only sees it once, from one angle, at full speed. There have been many, many worse decisions made. Again, spot on. I thought it was a terrible game until the sending off. It really livened it up. United can moan all they want, but they are just deflecting blame from themselves. They reacted terribly to the red card for 10 mins after it, and by the time they had composed themselves they had lost the game. Many teams have coped well with a man deficit, Chelsea managed to even win in Barcelona with a man down for a full half last season, but United didn't cope well at all. Blaming everything on the ref just masks their own failings (not making enough of their chances, questionable team selection, poor reaction from the players and the manager to the circumstances after the red.)
  2. Same as this. Liverpool was just amazing, but I don't remember ever celebrating a goal like Smith's equaliser. It was truly special. -
  3. You're not allowed to round the keeper with a penalty.
  4. That's the very front row. Row 1 and 2 are taken out because that's where they put disabled fans and row 3 is the first row. I was on that row when Gary Mc scored. -
  5. My worry is that with all these extra games caused by the cup run, by the time we get to the important end of season games where our league status is on the line, we could run out of steam. Special days like Saturday don't come around too often though, and I'd much rather be jn the cup than out of it. Fingers crossed we will be alright.
  6. Reckon we will get about 4,800 and we will sell them no probs.
  7. I thought the ref gave them loads of soft decisions. It was obvious who pays his wages, I thought.
  8. Not really no. One of the things that seemed to keep the RRE going was shutting up the away fans right next to them (which they did brilliantly). Having 2 sets of fans in one stand helped the atmosphere no end.
  9. RRE was cracking today. I sit in the Chaddy, and when the end went a bit flat, it always picked up again seeing that the RRE was still rocking. Great atmosphere.
  10. I think, if I remember right: When we beat City in 05 there were 50 league places between us and them. When we beat Everton in 08 there were 53 league places between us and them. When we beat Liverpool t'other week there were 57 league places between us and them. It's a bigger gap on Saturday.
  11. No late night opening either, which I find really bizarre. Also, why couldn't they sell tickets until lunchtime on the day of the game, considering it is an evening kick off?
  12. Andy Ritchie's signature definitely isn't on there. I got his autograph so many times as a kid that I could recognize it straight away.
  13. Just make sure you don't miss the last one and end up on the first megabus home on the Sunday, eh?
  14. They day travelcard at £38.25 is pretty good. Includes a zone 1-4 tube ticket and you can get any train home as long as its the same day.
  15. I put bets on over 62.5 points and the Ravens to win by between 1 and 6. Which was nice. I actually thought it would be really low scoring, but I hate betting on there not being many points so when I put the bet on I had to go the opposite way and be on loads being scored. £50 win, which put a big dent in my drinks bill for the night.
  16. I'd guess in a 12 month rolling contract, it is written into the contract how much we would have to pay up. My guess would be somewhere between 3 and 6 months salary.
  17. I wouldn't be against starting Murray, but I wouldn't drop Baxter. I'd play Baxter in his proper position. Up with a striker where he will hurt teams.
  18. I said to my dad after about an hour that he should put Murray on for Iwelumo and push Baxter further forward. It would have been an attacking change which could have helped us get something. Baxter needs to be further forward. He will hurt teams if he is up front. He won't if he is playing too deep.
  19. Wasn't there only 2 arrests at the Liverpool game? So the "disorder" can't have been that big. I find it hard to believe that for a game kicking off at 6pm on a Saturday, the polices idea to make sure there is less chance of trouble would be to increase the number of away fans. And away fans from Liverpool at that.
