  1. His interview on the Inside the Huddle podcast last summer was tremendous. The guy is an absolute beast.
  2. After the goal, a bloke near me was screaming "Are you watching Dickov? Are you watching?!!" I couldn't be arsed pointing out to this bloke that it was Dickov who made the sub in the first place, so he probably was watching.
  3. You think Philly fans are the type to moan and complain?...
  4. I thought it was his ankle that was knackered due to cricket? I read once that because he was such a big lad, every time he bowled a tonne of weight went through his ankle and thats why his body couldn't cope with it.
  5. I don't think we ever started quite as well as they have this season though.
  6. To be fair to the Trannies (and I don't say that very often!!) they have 30 points after 12 games. If you say 75 would get you in the playoffs, they only need another 45 points in 34 games to only make the playoffs. So they can be pretty average for the rest of the season and they should still finish top 6. If they are half decent, they will be close to automatic promotion. Thats how good their start has been.
  7. You might not think you did, but you will have done. Though my point was just saying Greater Manchester, and nothing else.
  8. When you decide you don't like the manager, this is how it works: Poor performance: Manager hasn't got a clue. All his fault. Tactically naive. Lost the dressing room etc... Good performance: Nothing to do with the manager. All about the players showing what they can do.
  9. Just out of curiosity, if Anton Ferdinand was ginger, or goofy, and John Terry had called him a "f*cking ginger c*nt" or "f*cking goofy c*nt" would he have got the same punishment?
  10. Imagine if somebody said to you "where are you from?" And you replied with "Greater Manchester." How much of a prick would you sound? That is all.
  11. Gary Bettman has been the commissioner for less than 20 years and has overseen 3 lockouts. Prick.
  12. I've never been to Brentord (yes, I know). All 4 pubs?
  13. If Griffin can take them from 5-11 to 8-8 then they will have done well. I see no reason why the Cowboys won't bottle it in December, again.
  14. If you go to all the home games, and at least 7 or 8 away games in a season I'd say that's at least a 8.
  15. Rookie QB, I'd be shocked if they make they playoffs. I listened to the Inside the Huddle podcast today, and the guy they had on there was saying that Griffin hasn't really been looking all that good. I've not seen him though so I can't say for myself. He might improve them, but I think it might be a bit too much to ask for him to take them from a 5 win team to the playoffs in his first year. The Eagles - you just never know. But I don't like Vick. Apart from the fact that he is a nasty piece of work, I just think he is massively over rated. He can run, but if you get pressure on him he struggles badly. Their receivers are top notch though and they have pace to burn which always makes them dangerous. The Cowboys will tell the whole world how good they are, pummel some below average sides, do average against the rest, before bottling it in December as usual. I'd expect the defending Superbowl champions, with the best QB in that division by some distance to be challenging for the division again, and I'd be disappointed if we didn't win it. Good options with the receivers. Be interesting to see how we do at TE, and what the running game is like. Jacobs could be a beast on his day, but they were too few and far between. Injuries in the secondary might cause a few problems though.
  16. I'd say that the standard of the Champions League nowadays is higher than the World Cup, so that he consistently dominates that competition is a massive plus in his favour. Messi (barring injury) is going to do the business in Brazil too, I am fairly confident of that (though clearly, it hasn't happened yet so I can't put it in his favour!) What I would say though, is that the Spanish League is stronger than the Premier League. More often than not, recently in Europe Premier League sides have really struggled against Spanish opposition. And the way that a mid table team manhandled United (who are consistently one of the best teams in the county) last season said a lot for me. It doesn't matter whether Messi or Iniesta ever do it in the Premier League or Italy, or Germany or France or wherever. They perform week in week out in Spain and at Europes highest level, so that is more than enough for them to stake their claim. For the record though... Messi would rip the Premier League a new 'un.
  17. Catches win matches. When we demolished Australia and India, we didn't miss a beat. We created chances in the field and took them. To beat a team like South Africa, you have got to play at that level (which we haven't done since we beat India a year ago) or you will get beat. In this test if we had taken some of the chances, like getting Amla out for 4 rather than dropping him and then he makes 121, then we probably would have won. As O4U said, fine margins. South Afrifca are the best team in the world right now, and they deserve their place at the top of the tree. But I don't think we are too far behind. Its quite close between a few countries at the top end of test cricket at the moment.
  18. I wouldn't go, and would probably resent them even more for it. They shouldn't exist. They stole a football club and a football league place. They don't deserve their place in the football pyramid as they stole it from Wimbledon. That Wimbledon are now back in the football league after reforming is irrelevant, as they will always have that place in the pyramid that they have stolen. If the people of Milton Keynes so desperately wanted a football club, they should have got behind their non league club and supported them in the hope that one day they will make it (you know, like all those other non league clubs that get into the league). As far as I am concerned, our league campaign starts on Tuesday, and as long as they exist I will never go there.
  19. Its a good ticket. Got it for Charlton last year. You can get any train back too on the Saturday so you are in no rush after the game. Just make sure you don't miss the last one...
  20. Then go, or don't go? Ok, thanks. I think I'll do just that.
