  1. What if you want to support your club, but you don't think £15 is reasonable for a friendly?
  2. Has anybody, ever, bough a season ticket just because they get into one friendly for free with it?
  3. Balotelli and Silva played in the Euro 2012 final, so I'm guessing their pre season will start pretty late, so I reckon there is a slight chance they will play. For the England and France lads, their Euros finished a week earlier, so I would expect their pre season would start a week earlier. They will probably play in China and Malaysia (so not at BP). Plenty of the City reserves will be on the tour, so we will be left with City's reserve reserves, and maybe the odd first teamer. How much will it cost to watch when we play City reserves in the Manchester Senior Cup? Might as well just go to that. I'd have definitley gone if I could use my free ST ticket, because I can't make the Huddersfield game (thankfully). But now that it will cost me £15 to watch a half paced game against the reserves of some club I can't stand, I don't think I'll bother. Unless of course, we are guaranteed to see some damn good players (and I mean David Silva.) Something wrong though when a friendly costs more than a competitive game.
  4. It wouldn't be that big a boost though would it? If they bring 4600 away fans (which isn't guaranteed) and they were all adults (which they wouldn't be) it would be 4600 x £20, which is £92,000 (minus a hefty police bill). If they got promoted at the first attempt, then it isn't a huge boost at all really. If they didn't get promoted at the first go, would they keep filling the away end? I don't think they would. So basically, no, I don't think English (league one) clubs should/would welcome them in for a season or two of slightly increased gate receipts.
  5. We would have won the group and France would have come second on head to head with Ukraine.
  6. I'm pretty sure Bilboa's Basque only policy would have something to do with that. Think they have only had one black player play for them, but the Basque country is nearly all white so I'd guess that is the reason. And people do complain about Spain. And Uefa then find them guilty and give them some ridiculously small fine which is no deterrent at all really.
  7. Still got a slight chance. Can't see it happening though. Not many teams have ever come from 3 down to win a 7 game series. Think we will lose on Monday night. Considering England are playing Monday tea time, there is no chance whatsoever of me staying up for the game. But if we win, I'm going to be asking work if I can book a day off on Thursday!
  8. Quite tired in work today... We had chances to win. Couldn't believe Fayne missed that open net. However, the best team won last night. We need to improve massively by Saturday night.
  9. The standby list isn't an official list I don't think. I think its just so the players who are on the list know they need to be ready if anyone gets injured. I wouldn't be on the phone to Scholes. He decided he didn't want to play for England 8 years ago. Apparently Carrick told the FA in January that he didn't want to be considered. If that's his attitude, then he can get stuffed. Unfortunately, it means we are so thin with decent midfielders that we end up with Jordan Henderson in the squad.
  10. Those Devils cheerleaders are alright aren't they?!
  11. When he signed, his first few games I thought he was crap. Looked a fish out of water. Then he got better each week. By the end of his loan deal, I was gutted he was going. Thought he would end up doing well for himself, but didn't think he would be a Premier League regular (which still might be the case) let alone a Champions League winner. Well done to the lad.
  12. If you want to put yourself in the shop window, Soccer AM is hardly the place to do it.
  13. Rooney is the only truly quality player we have going forward. Our only hope of doing anything in this tournament is hoping we aren't eliminated before the last group game, and then hope he does the business once he is back.
  14. Used them for the last 4 or 5 seasons. Never had any problems at all.
  15. United weren't poor. It's a myth. They got 89 points, and had a goal difference of over +50. That's the third highest points total in the last 20 years. In getting 89 points themselves, City couldn't really have done much more to pull away from them. Any other season they would have won it comfortably.
  16. Aye, but football has changed massively since we were there, and compared to the rest of that league they have hardly got cock all. What Wigan have achieved is tremendous. I for one am glad they have stayed up, and hope they can keep on doing what they are doing against the odds.
  17. I meant to ask actually, but forgot. I'm sure he remembers it as one of the highlights of his time at the club!
  18. I'd forgot about that. Someone did tell me that (I was a bit tipsy when I was told, probably explains why I can't remember). I laughed. Was sat with Dean Furman. It's not really gossip, but I did find out that he is a really sound bloke, and he loves plaing for Latics. And he really hopes Wes stays (he is also a sound fella)
  19. It wasn't cold yesterday though. It must have been at least 10 degrees, which definitley isn't gloves weather. But he also wore gloves during that night game in March where it was absolutely roasting. And he wears offensively coloured boots.
  20. He wears gloves in April. Apart from him being a terrible player, we should get rid just for that.
  21. I want United to lose. I don't want City to win, I just want United to lose. I can't stand either of them, but United are the bigger of two evils. Majority of their "fans" are a disgrace as they actually have no interest in United, they just want other teams to fail so they can take the piss. They call City fans bitter and obsessed with United, but they are far more bitter and obsessed with City (and Liverpool. And Arsenal. And Chelsea etc...) I am convinced they take more pleasure in others failing, than themselves succeeding. Which is bizarre, because if I supported a club who were that successful, I wouldn't care less about any other club. And thats only one of the reasons. I think Pukka got it spot on with his post.
  22. As has already been stated... Sheffield United away was truly unbeleivable. One of the great results. Charlton away was a tremendous piss up. Morais' goal was a bloody ace moment. Lowlight - losing to Rochdale. How embarrassing. They are bobbins.
