  1. Brazil will get through that group with no real problems. Portugal are pretty poor, Ivory Coast are decent, but Brazil rarely lose. They dont have as much flair as in the past, but they know how to win. England... quarters I reckon. But it's definitely winnable.
  2. And just so you know he is 100% telling the truth, here is the bad boy in action: http://twitpic.com/1q0wr3 -Sent from my iPhone
  3. Ackey has replaced his iPhone with a newer, if a little more basic phone. You should see it, it's the s**t!
  4. I couldn't really care less who gets offended, I just want to see PhilStarbucksSilkySkills' drawing.
  5. Well, I put this before, because I don't really agree that less publicity is good for us...but no news about us in the MEN is not guaranteed to affect our attendances.
  6. No, just a "big" reason why "loads" of fans were against it. And I am saying it's not....it might be a small reason why some fans are against it.
  7. It's nonsense because the main reason many people are against is that people dont see it as Oldham, or dont think that part of Oldham will be a success for us... nothing to do with having to travel and extra 10 mins...as many people who are against it would have their travelling time cut.
  8. It's a completely different debate for a completely different thread... but thats b******s (the extra 10 mins travel bit.) And for the bit before... there is no way of proving either way whether or not less coverage in the M.E.N would affect attendances. But has been said already, they do cover us sufficiently. And I am not saying they should cover us less.
  9. So, the key points to what I said were... The M.E.N covers us sufficiently. The amount of Latics fans where the M.E.N is their only source of Latics news is minimal. If the M.E.N didn't cover us at all I wouldn't care one jot (as it wouldn't affect me. At all.) Is there something wrong with them points?
  10. Well, its pointless trying to reach out to the masses of Greater Manchester. The people of Oldham don't give a :censored: about Latics, why would the people of Bury care? But seriously, what is the circulation of the M.E.N in Oldham? I'd guess the coverage we (and all the other teams) get is proportional to the amount of readers the town has. Also, does anyone pick up the M.E.N to find out news about Latics? I'd guess at no. Anyone in Oldham who wants to find out news about Latics will get the Chron (another reason why I dont understand why the Chron cover the manc clubs...you can just get the M.E.N.) Anyone who lives out of Oldham (but in Gtr Manchester) and wants to find out Latics news will more than likely look online. And the amount who live in Gtr Manchester, support Latics and cant get online will be minimal. So...the M.E.N cover us sufficiently. But if they didn't, I don't think it would make any difference (and I still wouldn't care.)
  11. Why is that ridiculous? Is it because it's not the answer you wanted? You ask if we feel we get the coverage that we should. I say that as its Manchester's newspaper, I don't care what coverage they give us. Not ridiculous at all, its just a simple answer to your question. The Manchester Evening News is exactly that, so if they only ever covered United, City and a couple of Manc non-league clubs then you would not see me complaining. We have a local daily paper to cover us, so the fact that they cover us at all is more than adequate as far as I am concerned. I'm more arsed about why the Oldham Chronicle sees fit to cover United and City (last time I checked, neither were from Oldham.) Frankly, I think is a disgrace.
  12. It's the Manchester Evening News, so to be honest, I couldn't give a damn whether they cover us of not.
  13. He has played 24 league games this season. All but 3 were before Feb, when he got injured, and was seen out in a nightclub whilst injured. Now, I don't know if he is still carrying a knock, but it is conceivable that the reason he has hardly played since is that the manager has fallen out with him....or it could just be that they have been on fire so he couldn't get back in the team. Either way, to say he has hardly played is wrong.
  14. That was quite funny. Especially when he nearly beasted the doors off their hinges.
  15. I am surprised you can remember how apathetic we were on Saturday night!
  16. Not really. If there is such a thing as karma, then it will get him at some point.
  17. The tactics will be exactly the same as they were in qualifying. Heskey and Rooney up front, Lampard and Barry (if fit) in the middle. Worked in qualifying, where we scored more goals than anyone else, so I can't see it changing.
  18. Carragher should be nowhere near that squad. Anyone who retires from playing for their country just because they are struggling to break into the team should never be considered again. I could sort of understand if he had made himself available for the qualifiers...but he didn't. There is no way that he deserves a place in the 30, let alone on the plane.
  19. I thought you had the cup in the bag again this year?
  20. Do you know how I know you're gay? You "entertain" boys from London.
  21. If Ack takes you to the Courtyard you can divide 40 by 1.80 (or even 1.55 if you brave the homebrew) and then that kebab will be even nicer.
  22. I'd like to see Jim Magilton get it personally. Ipswich and QPR both played some lovelly football under him.
  23. Genius of the ICC to schedule a world tournament in the West Indies during the rainy season.
