Lol, the Islanders. One of the couple of NHL games I've been to was Devils v Islanders, which the Islanders won 2-1. With about 2 mins to go, a devils fan behind me shouted, in disbelief, "we're losing....to the ISLANDERS!" It was then that I realised, they musn't be very good.

I think they miss a lot of chances.

Basically, its a yellow towel that Steelers fans wave at games to show support. You see the crowd all waving these and it looks pretty good. Its probably a similar thing to when you see all the Liverpool fans on the Kop, when they have all the flags and scarves out, basically an American Football version of that. I know last year when the Giants beat Dallas in the playoffs, they had a break during play of a New York Knicks game to show the closing stages of the game.

Spags was great. Dont think we really got found out defensively, we were still pretty solid, in the end the offence just wasn't producing and putting the D under too much strain. To think how well we did after losing Strahan and Umenyiora, I think we still did well. But like you say, it will be good to see some fresh ideas, I just hope the new defensive co-ordinator has as much success. I think you could level the being found out accusation at Kevin Gilbride...once Plax shot himself he didnt seem to know how to adjust. I think Spags could do really well with the Rams. If he can sort the defence out (massive problem, 2nd most points against this year), and get some protection for Marc Bulger then they should be ok. I rate Bulger, but he gets so little protection that he is always going to struggle. Rams will have some good draft picks, and if he has picked up any tips during his time with the Giants, then you would expect them to draft well. I hope he does the business for them. Steelers are massive faves for the Superbowl. They have a good claim at being this years best team, they had the toughest schedule of any team since the merger, and finished ranked 2nd. However, Arizona have been big underdogs in every playoff game this year. Much like last years Giants, they just keep getting it done. If the Superbowl is half as good as last years then it will be awesome.

We are the Champions by Queen presumably. The good thing for you now is that even if you dont win the Superbowl, you are still NFC Champions, which felt pretty good for me last year.

Think this next game could go either way. I just played the game on Madden 09, and dont think its an omen, but as Arizona, I whooped the Eagles 41-22, including this pretty damn good pick6: Interception!

Well in his first season we had Chartlon, he played 34 games for us so I'd say that is pretty settled. If Jones hadn't gotten injured, we would have tried to keep him for the season. Shez knows we need a left back, and he also knows that good left backs are hard to come by. Most of the young ones are snapped up by bigger clubs, so to get a decent one we will more than likely have to rely on " LOANEES".

Three years and we have had some really good left-backs....Charlton, Bertrand and Jones. The problem is, as with all left sided players, good ones are hard to come by. I dont think Sheridan wants to stick any old left footer there, he wants to make sure what money he has is used wisely and a good player is signed for that position. Until recently Lomax was doing OK there, and I think Shez has always seen him as a stopgap. It now looks like we desperately need a left back to replace him, so I hope we find another good 'un this week.

So its Eardly's fault that Lomax screamed it in his own net? Now Eardlys biggest problem is his distribution, I agree with that. But he is young and that can be coached out of him. He is by far the best right back we have had for many many years. By far. He is solid, and it disgusts me the treatment that he gets. I dont want people to slag Lomax off, but Eardly is a much much much better footballer. One day all the mongs that slag him off will be proved wrong when Eardly has a good career at a higher level, and Lomax is left making a career at league 2/conference level.

Do you honestly think our players should take "a leaf out of the book of players who play for supposedly lesser clubs. e.g. Stockport/Tranmere etc etc." You do know that these teams are below us. The reason they are below us is that they are not as good as us. I do not want Latics players to take a leaf out of the books of teams that are worse than us. Not now. Not ever.

It really really really doesn't work like that.

Positives- we are still in the thick of a promotion race. Right, it was a really bad result. I'm not going to criticise too much, because like you, I wasn't there. But yes, its an embarrassing result. And the reason its so embarrassing? Because we are so high in the league and they are so low. We have an opportunity next week to put it right, and we are still in a pretty damn good position. Only 5 games lost all season, they way you go on its like we lose every week.

Wouldnt we need a "reserve team" for "reserve stories"?
