  11. So these mates of ours have bought a new house, she's been after one for ages. All he's been bothered about is gettin a big foff plasma screen telly. We went round a Friday to check it out, of course he couldn't wait to show me this.... Jammy bugger I thought. Anyway after a few glasses of pop I had to break the seal, being a new house they have a bog downstairs too, "first on the right" he said, but then hastily shouted "noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, the left", but too late I'd already opened the door on the right..........

  13. Yup we did, I used to do match reports of the ressies for JKL. We beat Citeh 3-0 in the MSC when Jesus played, 2 extracts from my match report. But obviously not that difficult for the club to judge as I think that was his only game
  14. Yes indeed Mr J, well spotted Mr J, you are definitely a wise guy !
  15. I'm sure the chap circled used to be a teacher at my school at that time, but somebody else will probably know him and its not!!! An' I never knew Toyah was a Latics fan either
  16. I heard this on pretty good authority. When Stitch and Sharp were up for the managers job obviously there was a great deal of support for Andy and very little for the other candidate. Although Sharp did have some support, his supporters club used to meet up in the phonebox that was at the bottom of Sheepfoot Lane. Anyway it turns out that all the debate was solely on the fans part, and no matter how much we all wanted Stitch the board had decided as soon as JR went it was Sharps if he wanted it. Apparently on the day of the interviews Sharp went in and was in for some time, he came out and said to the waiting Ritchie, "I've go no chance, go for it good luck mate" or words to that effect before doing one, ahem, sharpish. Andy's interview lasted about a minute or there abouts, or so I've heard, basically they said "hello Andy, we have given Graeme the job, see ya". I blame that bushy eyebrowedtwot Stott meself!
  17. So Crofty drifted in games and "Killer" his all every game. Ok if youse chaps think so but you must have been at differnt games to me then , as they say its all about opinions.
  18. Very true G, was there just about this time last year. Glad your chum is doing well, hope he continues to do so too.
  19. THE Ritchie moment, the one that gave us belief, that sparked the "pinch me" era and all that followed in my humble opine. This quote from The Times as posted by Help Shiny on JK ages ago What a night, we'd done for the Champions, played 'em off BP, and it really was I believe the catalyst. There have been many great moments in my time watching Latics but that few seconds in time Stitch hitting it, being stood in line, seeing it was going in and the unbelievable euphoria that followed as the Chaddy bounced as one is possibly the best, yes even better than Redders penalty, simply because it was the first. We didn't do giant killing, we didn't batter teams like Arsenal, and as half time approached it seemed we'd get nothing for our dominance. Then Stitch popped up and the rest is history.
  20. No definitely page 27, sorry. Anyway just found this as I walked into work, shocking.
  21. Do you mean this fella DW. Agree with Crofty though, have him back and in the team like a shot if we could.
  22. Ah I see now, that well and truly whooshed me But funnily enough Chadd have two basic suggestions too, honestly
  23. We've now got the crappy black pace one under the stairs just in case we decide to return to Virgin!!!! My Sister got a Samsung one, mainly cos the Pace once was sparking with the DVD player, nice.
  24. Stevie J eh ?? Well I grew'd up in Midd, but as we've never had a proper football team, well there was Tonge United, but that went by the board about 100 years ago, although they did beat Latics on occasion, and their ground has now gone forever with new houses on it, Chadd is the nearest, and I know a few folks involved with the set up there too. Oldham Town at their old ground would have been closer, I'm sure I once watched Latics play a pre season game down Hunt Lane??
