A quality beer fiasco at half time with the out of date beer, not that I was in the bar, just got told about it.
I remember another club trying to flog out-of-date beer.

"..and the dog was called Fergie."
That would have been amusing.

It's only today that I realised it's on Broadhurst Fields. I spent a lot of my teens playing football on there. I'm just off for a little cry.
Don't despair, you still will be able to. A couple of two youth pitches for Moston Juniors, who currently lease anyway - and they can play their big games in the stadium. Plus one full artificial pitch, with an open-to-the public medical room managed by club physios.

LJ has challenged fans to come up with new and inventive songs to sing on matchdays
This should prove to be uninteresting; the usual showcase of formulaic, low-status ditties with infantile delivery. Some in all-caps, natch.

Is it just an English culture of footballers who don't show much gratitude to their fans?
I can tell you that it is not.
-
They are well run because they are competing against the dog and duck
With the exception of AFC Fylde (2022) who are on an investors roller coaster ride of thrills and spills (you can have a pop at them as well if you like, do some research first this time), Chorley, Marine, Droylsden, Stafford, Blyth Spartans, Northwich1874, Ilkeston, Darlington, Nantwich and so-on are all excellent clubs with great fans - that statement is wholly disrespectful to non-league clubs at that level and below.
-
Can I also point out the plight of Eastwood Town. Ex-conference with crowds of 400 and a wage bill of £10k a week, they let "investors" into the club with money and then pulled the plug out. Yesterday all their remaining fixtures were cancelled. FC will not let the crooks in.

They will advance or die. What would they do in the same league in 5 years time with 300 fans in that stadium? Their fans might have fallen out of love with paying for top flight football but they still seem to respond to winning most weeks
Surely that's going to alienate some of the fans after a while if they have to forefeit promotion continuously to live within their means?
Maybe not now they are still a young club but after a number of years the fans will start to change their mind and ask questions about the ethos of the whole thing if they don't see progress. Their will surely come a point where they will have to accept higher ticket prices and sponsorship.
The club already has sponsorship - It's just not on the shirt.
I would assume that there will be a vote on the next phase of the club, the membership will steer the club in the direction it wants to go. The club survey which is circulating at the moment covers most of what you are saying, the club would like to see what motivates the fans. One of questions posed the forfeit promotion question and I'd be very interested to see the results. It strikes me that FC are first and foremost a club - a social club - the amazing amount of work it does off the pitch in the community (not just Moston), Moston Juniors FC, FCuth, the Development Team, FC womens team and for it's members as a whole should not go without mention - the bonds are very strong. So while it would be easy to bracket the whole scenario into 'must advance of die' there are alternatives. The facilities at Moston is not just for FC, local side Moston Juniors will have facilities/pitches too - there will be function rooms and office space for the community - where at the moment FC are paying over-the-odds for Gigg Lane, in the future it won't be, and although the new stadium will be a significant overhead to cover, the benefits from the facilities mentioned above will be made available to the club.

Is it just a stand is their anything else that goes with it?
The idea of Fc United seems all well and good when they are competing in the pub leagues and they get about 1500 and everyone gets 1 man and his dog they can charge hardly anything and compete very easily. If they were to get to football league level they have to sacrifice a few of their principles if they are able to compete.
I also think they are closet communists who are full of :censored:. Since taking over at United 9 years ago the glaziers have delivered 5 premiership titles 1 champions leagues and 3 league cups they have turned in record profits and even broke their club transfer record last month £37million on one player. They also still play at old Trafford and it's still called old Trafford. It hasn't lead to the death of Manchester United and the debt is manageable.
I think forfeiting promotion to a league which demands too much would be a serious option. Clearly there would be more financial pressures as the club rises through the league, it won't overstretch itself to chase quick targets, or to claim a position in the league it cannot sustain.
The transfer thing is tricky, one has to take into account the net spend.
As for Glazer and the finance - read Andy Green (andersred), he knows more than anyone I have read on the subject.
-
Footballing wise they aren't setting the world alight, but that's because they aren't prepared to speculate with the playing budget, promotion isn't the be all and end all.
Good point; for instance North Ferriby, Hednesford last year (who are doing well in the Conference North) and AFC Fylde and Chorley this year have spent quite a bit (for NPL standards) to get out of the division - where FC have spent nothing and still managed to be placed in the playoffs in 4 out of 6 attempts, is a great achievement.
-
Community Share Schemes which qualifies for tax relief, grants, development funds, membership schemes and fund raising events - to name but a few.
What you can see is the main stand and enterance going up now I think. What is also important is the connections FC have made in the non-league scene, with a lot of help from friends in the league a deal with Northwich Victoria with the blessing of 1874 Northwich was struck so that their iconic Dane Bank Stand will be used as the North Stand.
It'll be ready for next season.

Everything about OAFC has completely :censored:ed off over the last decade or so.

Johnson should rant more. Like Ric Flair. In fact all manager interviews should be screened like an 1980's US pro wrestling angle.
:censored: yeah.

I agree with all your points. That's why I am of the stance to all those who are interested, to join and make the changes from within. I don't know any answers to posters because I am not involved in the trust.

I'd say Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The Trust seems a bit like Fight Club.

Super fan wow, how on earth do you come to that description? I have properly read the above comments, I always do, otherwise I would not comment BUT please, a fan who travels all the way from Salford and goes to 1 game a season.
OHCB's point is: there are many who are closer that don't go at all - neither is Tangerine sticking two fingers up, you don't know the full story.
