I know it is a big pArt of our culture to snipe and moan but having recently moved to Japan I went to watch a random game from their second tier. The whole crowd was really positive and I did get the impression of a much greater mutual respect between fans and players. I was a bit sad that we can't do the same....I guess English crowds are some of the hardest to please, you really have to earn that vocal support. I can however see why avb may criticise the home support in England

Generalisation. You haven't been to the right English clubs, granted they may be few and far between. I went to a 3-1 home defeat the other week and the home teams' supporters sang all the way through the game and about 10 minutes after the final whistle, little more that 1500 fans. Superb atmosphere...

 

Other than the morgue-like feel, the scarcity of pies, the pitch level view and the big stanchions blocking your already bad view there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Chaddy.

Sometimes, even at this level, I think fans have been spoilt :censored:ing rotten.

It gives one line of text to each point total, and then lists the clubs next to their corresponding point totals. If a point total has no corresponding clubs assigned to it, the column where a club would go is left blank. Consecutive blank rows communicates the size of the gaps between two teams in a very effective and straightforward manner. To aid in identifying tie breakers or differences in the total number of games played, each club's goal differential and any games in hand are displayed next to their names.

It was a bit early, but I could hardly contain myself. I heard something about a Cann Table on a podcast last night and decided to quickly cobble something together this morning. I love numbers *geek*

The historical figures that I've cobbled together are ripped straight off Wiki, however I update the spreadsheet with new data every season, a change in manager or when somebody requests it. So, it may not be 100% accurate but I'd hazard a guess at - oh I don't know - 31st October to 7th December 2001? It overlaps Mick Wadsworths stint, but that may have been the case...

EDIT: Mick Wadsworth may have started 07.12.01 not 07.11.01. I'll change it for future versions.

He was a coach, scout and Ritchie's number two - he took over when Ritchie got the boot and stood down when Wadsworth got the job.

Its called getting fed up of the same old dross year on year. If we can't beat bottom of the league there is something wrong shouldn't evem come in to it that they have just sacked their manager. They were bottom for a reason
