  1. He is just a prick isn't he? Why would you quit at a club when it's going so well, probably heading towards consecutive promotions! Sure, the chairman selling Matt Ritchie is annoying and would piss anyone off but you've got to get on with it and look for a replacement. It doesn't seem to have affected them!
  2. SC has to stamp his authority with it i guess, rather than giving a manager free reign. Could backfire though, many might be put off by what they see as chairman interferance. The new man would need to bring in an assistant too, so it wouldn't be too bad, no need for a fitness coach because we know that just goes tits up, eg. Paul 'Lets slag fitness off in a national paper' Butler.
  3. I'm sure the youth system is in good and trusted hands, even if it is still overseen by TP currently. TP keeping the role until the end of the season is ideal for the club, even more so if he keeps us up (i 100% think he would do) - it would then allow a new man to be brought in and for him to bring in his own assistant and players. However, there does need to be consistancy within a club, TP remaining with the youths is a given, Gerrard should stay as a GK coach and i believe that Murray and Byrne should stay as well, not even giving the new man the option - they could prove vital in coaching and also playing too (particularly Byrne) That consistancy can then help us to gain stability and also progression in the league, managers talk about about a 2/3/4 year plan - this is what we need, a manager that wants a project, to bring youth players through and intergrate them into a team of experienced professionals along with ex-youth players too. Follow this philosophy and i believe we are on our way to building up some success in the next few years. But, i'll repeat from earlier that i believe that Dowie is the only man who can achieve this, good relations with current coaching staff proving vital.
  4. Dowie shares the same ideas and gameplan as TP - as said earlier in the week, the philosophy adopted in 02/03 was to concentrate on our own game and not to concentrate too much on what the opposition are up to. Go Hard or Go Home. Well Done to TP, his backroom staff and the lads. The only replacement is Dowie for me!
  5. Shows he's not afraid to change the team. Fair Play to TP - must mean that no-one is a guaranteed starter!
  6. He is now favourite for the... wait for it... Swindon Job... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/swindon/next-permanent-manager Hmm...
  7. Might not want a move away from the North West, someone should definitely take a look at him though. Where's Barry when you need him?!
  8. Wanted to go to this one since the fixtures came out. Gutted, i'm away for it... well, Berlin > Boundary Park
  9. Furman will end up in the championship, time away in South Africa was his shop window. Have a feeling Crofty will sign again.
  10. Maybe not the Ruthless figure that we were all after the other week. It must be hard, but then you've just got to get on with it.
  11. Haven't rated CI from what i've seen of him so far, he seems either knackered after making a run or he's just lazy. Matt Smith for me any day!
  12. Didn't need to be said in this topic. Simply keep TP as Caretaker not as permanent manager. Understand?!
  13. Understandable - Surely, Mick Preist and fellow youth coaches could work without TP for a few weeks, not the best but some things have to be done for the greater good I suppose. TP will do anything for the club, has proven that in all the years he's been here!
  14. ... That thinks that we don't need to rush to appoint a manager anymore and that Tony Philliskirk is perfectly capable of overseeing first team duties until the end of the season. Speaking to a few others today, they're all under the illusion that we need a new manager rapid now and I seem to be the only one seeing it differently. Thoughts?
  15. He's given Obita a go and has probably been impressed over the last 2 games too. However, he may not be the manager come the 27th so.
  16. In Krakow for the replay so it better be on TV, would make a good night if we go and win too!
  17. I think i had that sudden realisation yesterday. Yes, i've been at games where we've beaten City etc but that was my best moment as a Latics fan. I think finally at 18 years old, i understand fully how it feels. [QPR game 03/04 when John Eyre scored the winner comes close though]
  18. No. Nice Man, Talks high of the club and players every time he's in the media. 9/10 times he can't manage for :censored:. Sorry Paul, we love you, but no.
  19. Dedicate that win to him, absolutely superb since he's taken over. More organised and look like they want to fight for the game. I think i'm in love
