Maybe there was too many good ones to rush the decision so it makes sense to give it to Holden until the end of the season to give them time to decide?
December proved that we weren't strong enough. A small resurgence in February i'll admit but it was never going to last.
Like I've said, our inability to beat the teams at the bottom has killed us this season. Under both managers.
Wilkinson isn't mature enough or experienced enough to be leading the line on his own, especially when the 5 in midfield behind him are playing so defensively that he's left totally isolated up top. He needed someone like Turner or Philliskirk to play off him and be around him to help him out and provide too.
Think we'll see Wilkinson and Turner starting together up top on Saturday.
We created 4 or 5 really good chances tonight and scored one of them. Not clinical enough, but that's been our problem since day one at Colchester.
We'll stay up, but it's not going to be a rollercoaster for the remaining ten games.
If we can't get the man we want now, but can in summer then i'd be prepared to wait until then with Holden in charge.
Especially if the alternative is Mark Yates...
