  1. Well Done Wes. Definite stand-out performer all season. Who even won it last year? Can't remember! They can't have been THAT good!
  2. Diallo playing for LA Galaxy reserves, from what I can see...
  3. I presume our retained list will be out sometime this week?
  4. What happens if a 'B team' cannot be promoted but win their respective league? Does the second place team get the promotion?
  5. Not just Latics but clubs would be limited in the players that they would be able to loan from Premier League clubs as they would be in their B teams. Look at lot's of lower league clubs, given the right loans, it gives them more of chance to compete. B teams would take that chance away. Power for Premier League clubs is increased once more, whilst the lower league clubs are the ones pushed further away.
  6. Pushes us further away from the possibility of promotion back to the Premier League, whilst gives them more power and probably more money all together. Load of bollocks from the FA. If they really want to look at promoting English players. Just make the rule at 5 English players have on the field for your team at any one time. That'll change it more dramatically and the Premier League clubs, like City and Arsenal, would be :censored:ed. What next? Abolishment of promotion to the Premier League and it being an elected system. Would not surprise me.
  7. Seen Clough as a manger twice at BP this season. Both times it looked as if he had a well organised team and knew the oppositions weaknesses. Certainly did with Derby. With additions, they'll be top 6.
  8. Shame they're weren't any free bacon butty's on offer... Bastards.
  9. Saw David Eyres at MGM Studios in Florida back in the day. Half way round the world and you see someone you know, mad.
  10. Looking at the stats... Home Won 7 Draw 8 Lost 8 Away Won 7 Draw 6 Lost 10 So, away record slightly worse, we need to be winning 12+ at least at home though to be challenging for anything. In terms of goals... Home Goals for - 23 Goals Against - 28 Away Goals for - 27 Goals Against - 31 So, whilst we haven't seemingly conceded THAT many goals, the crucial last minute equalisers/defeats are what really killed us. Crewe away comes to mind straight away. Not being able to hold on to 1-0 leads at home, or increase on them has also significantly cost us. Looking at the teams who beat us at home is another indication of where we need to improve. Walsall, Tranmere, Colchester, Shrewsbury, Wolves, MK Dons, Preston, Rotherham... Whilst defeats against teams in the top 6 I can take, presumably as they're the best teams in the league, it's the smaller teams that we have to be beating. Something which I'm sure has been looked at and assessed by LJ and Tommy Wright and something that I expect will be, if not already has been rectified by the management team. Our ten game unbeaten run has given us some hope for the new season. A solid defence and midfield with a striker up top who knows where the net is, and can teach JCH to acquire the same trait and we can be pushing on to the top half of the table next season. Importantly, expectations should be kept grounded this time around, no talk of the play-offs until we know what we can do, only then should we dare to dream of getting to the play-off's. I fully expect that there will be improvement next season and expect us to finish a lot more comfortably than we have for the last 4. Providing the investment in the squad is there, then I see no reason why we should be in another relegation dog-fight. There are exciting times to come at Boundary Park (The Sports Direct Stadium) I feel...
  11. I do wonder what effect AFC Wimbledon getting to the Football League had on their support. I suspect a few who went to MK, dwindled back to AFC once they saw how well they were doing.
  12. Paul Dickov will remain in his position at Donacaster despite relegation from The Championship From ssn.
  13. I keep seeing this about his home approach posted. In my view, and i may be totally off the mark, it could be just a case of making use of what you've got for the last portion of the season. Make us hard to beat, both at home and away and just get the required points to survive. If i am wrong, then I agree that playing that kind of football at home next season will cost us. Playing JCH in a lone striker role will also cost us, but this probably falls into the best of what we currently have, with MacDonald as back-up. In terms of this season, i'd give LJ a 6. Looking forward to what he may have in store for us next season.
