  1. Could well be Sheffield United that blocked the revealing of the transfer fee. Fact is though, if we knew Baxter had gone for say, 500k, how much uproar would there be that nothing had been put into the playing budget from this (although it probably had, towards some wages) There's obviously short-fallings and holes that have to be plugged at the club, hence the player sales. Maybe the financial situation is worse or better than we think? Who knows. I'd wager that our club is more transparent than others when it comes to the wire. I do question why some fans think they have some innate right to know EVERYTHING about what happens in the club. Unfortunately, whilst paying good money to watch Latics, you don't gain access to the boardroom and all it's dealings for £300 and odd, maybe a bit more, a season. What happens are board level, generally stays at board level, unless it is of vital importance to us fans.
  2. As with any business, there isn't complete transparency. We don't even need to get into the issue of the Trust as that is a cyclical topic that will go on and on... I think it is well speculated that money goes back to Blitz and Gazal, who's shocked? Really. The land remains their property and to be fair, they used their own money to buy it from the council in 2004, so surely, it is their property. If we are paying rent to them then so be it. Everyone wanted football at Boundary Park so that's the price of it.
  3. So what? We've got grass that we play football on. We've got 3 and 1/8 stands to play in front of. We have no threat to be kicked out of the ground. We're in no immediate financial danger. But no, Blitz and Gazal of Brassbank are just going to tell us to :censored: off and they're going to demolish the ground and build 1000 houses.
  4. From what I've seen, there's been quite a bit tonight on Twitter, in regards to exchanges between Wizzo and Paul Whitehead. People are delving into business that is quite frankly, none of their business. I think as fans, some demand too much. Yes, transparency is needed in some cases but people get far too caught up in OAFC (2004) with Brassbank etc. This separation of assets is probably more of a good thing, if God forbid, Latics did go into administration again, the assets, such as the land could not be taken and sold by creditors.
  5. Add that to supporters gained from the cup-run sell outs. Imperative that they try and keep as many as them as possible, probably expalins low prices.
  6. Maybe he's a babyfaced 40 year-old with that hair line haha! Jesus, bet he got in for a fiver!
  7. Christ, grow up lads! RRE is the current best of a bad bunch of stands. It would actually be a great stand if the concourse was rebuilt and was covered. Something for the future I think... The Chaddy End needs a complete re-build, but that won't happen until our future benefactor comes in and pumps millions into the club... We can only hope. Main Stand can't have that long left in it? Safety certificate was iffy last time it was renewed I believe, so must be more in doubt the older it gets...
  8. Big Joe's return match against Tranmere that season was a cracking atmosphere. Big Fat Joe's Barmy Army and the Ian Moore chant got it going. Good times!
  9. Presumably it will be the little stand behind the goal. Can't see us surpassing or getting near the 1800 mark. As opposed to Bury where it was obvious that there was going to be more.
  10. Bury Away - last away game of the season 2011/2012
  11. Surely it is apt that the club announce that fans can sit in either the RRE or the Chaddy End for the rest of the season now with their season ticket? Already heard that some don't want to go back to the Chaddy
  12. Next season will and probably should be the last season with both open. I think the ultimate judgement of which stand will be shut will come down to who buys season tickets where. If the majority is in the RRE, the future of home fans in there will probably be the decision and the other way round.
  13. Been in the RRE 5 years (I think) and last Saturday was the first time i've got wet in there. Sit on row L. The New Stand will be bad for it.
  14. I suspect a few might move from the Chaddy permanently next season.
  15. Matchday prices are up too... Match day admission prices will be: ZenOffice Chaddy End; Adults £22, Under 16 £10, Under 12 £5, Over 65 £12. Verlin Stand; Adults £22, Under 16 £10, Under 12 £5, Over 65 £12. George Hill Upper; Adults £22, Under 16 £10, Over 65 £12. George Hill Lower; Adults £20, Under 16 £10, Over 65 £12. 16. No, it's just tools like you that should be forced out of forums. I suspect you might be after that post anyway...
  17. Like City with their stadium sponsorship. Pump 100 Million in from a company closely associated with the owners. Problem solved.
  18. We used to give tickets out to primary schools, but that was in like 2006.
  19. Latics 1 - 3 Brentford (HT 0-2) Philliskirk 4050
  20. Got to live within your means. We can't splash out on an extra 2500 seats to make the stand 5000 when we can't even afford to finish the stand completely without someone magically whipping up £700,000.
  21. I bet you said we'd lose the last three games. I thought you'd been quiet.
  22. Ah the fickleness of football fans. Imagine if we were third, Johnson would be treated like the second coming, knighted and given a 1000 year contract.
  23. Oops. Why or when did I start this thread. Must have had a few...
  24. No wonder they didn't want West Ham across the road...
