  1. You don't get drenched if you sit from about row J back. Don't think i've ever got wet whilst sitting in there. Sit in the new stand and you will though!
  2. We sit on row K in the RRE and the leg room is okay, not spectacular. Last time i went in the Chaddy, the leg room was so bad, we were about 12 rows back. Might be different further back in the stand.
  3. I was assuming that the paddock would be used as the "cheaper alternative" much like the Lookers paddock used to be. Those were the days!
  4. Unfortunately as it stands, we can't revert back to standing. Hopefully that will change within the next few years.
  5. Just looking back to 2008/2009 when we were up near the top of the table (until our collapse after the dogs.) The atmosphere then was pretty good, I remember being stood in the RRE and it was actually buzzing, think we played Tranmere in Big Joe's come back. Show's that good football or being in a good league position does some good.
  6. "You all fit in one stand, you all fit in one stand, ONE STAND..."
  7. Oh no, what about the fan's who stood there on a freezing cold Tuesday night against Macclesfield in the 1970's...
  8. Away fans in the Chaddy for me. People always go on about 'Tradition' being a determining factor in their decision. But i ask, what has tradition done for us these past 20 years? A better atmosphere makes for a better experience all round for most (i'd guess...) Would people be that arsed about moving out of the Chaddy, really? Would it stop people going? Chaddy End would be the last choice for where i'd personally sit. Main stand paddock is better than the Chaddy and it even has leg room.
  9. How long has the main stand got on it's safety certificate? It was on it's arse last time and it was worried it wouldn't get renewed...
  10. Which he stayed for all of 8 months? Then signed for a bigger team. As is the natural evolution of football.
  11. It's not easy to add quality to our team though, on our (supposedly) low budget. You just have to look at the players we have brought in this year, most are other teams cast-off's, who aren't good enough (or seemingly not) for their previous team. Obviously, we'll get a couple of quality players within the bunch we sign, but any real quality players will only be playing for those with bigger budgets. Look at Baxter, he had real quality. When he joined us he was a cast-off from Everton and latterly Tranmere, i think. We won the raffle to get him, but as soon as a big team came in, he went. Money talks even in our league. It's a shame, but that's the way it is for us and many others in and around us in the league.
  12. I mean the original singing of "Ooh Roger Palmer" at Tounkara...
  13. Just wanted to bring it to attention that Preston have been allocated the large section this coming Saturday. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20140303-supporters-stand-change-1395002.aspx?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Website says you have to contact the ticket office to change stands. But I presume you can just get in with your RRE ticket as usual.
  14. I remember when "Ooh Roger Palmer" was sung at Oumare Tounkara when he first player. Quicky changed into "Ouuumare Tounkara" naturally. Is this again camouflaged racism? At the time I thought it was quite a thing comparing Tounkara to one of our best ever strikers, but now I can see the underlying hint. Like others have said though, a minor problem in an otherwise very problematic club, at times.
  15. Does our manager know our team better than us though? He should do, but he's not always right. You've clearly got an agenda against Wes anyway, can tell from all your comments. What's your problem with him? He's been player of the season for me...
  16. I think the problem lies with LJ and the players minset with this though. Wes should be the tough-tackling, dirty work midfielder in the middle of the field. The invisible man sort of role where a lot of his good work towards the team goes largely unnoticed. But it is crucial to the team. Smith on the other hand, should not be also playing the holding role. Having Wes in the centre with him should liberate him, allow him to get forward and engage with wingers and strikers on the field. Surely that should be coached into their game? Or can you not coach an 'experienced' player to change?
  17. Well, i'm guessing we're paying all his wages. So if we can afford him now, we'll be able to afford him in 3 months time, barring some financial meltdown.
  18. This is Oldham, we'll beat Leyton Orient, Brentford, Preston and Rotherham. Don't do things the simple way.
  19. "No points possible against Preston or Rotherham"... Have some faith, jesus. Yes they're good teams, but there is no reason why we can't go out, get the ball on the floor and nick a draw or dare i say it a victory.
