  1. When the other half became twats. Not refering to you Harry, just getting on my tits at the moment, some on here, some on twitter. Maybe i'm a so-called "happy clapper" but I think we should be getting behind the team, rather than the Johnson Out Brigade coming out and talking :censored:. Yes we're on a bad run at the moment, but people need to understand that things don't change over night. Our team may look like a top half team on paper to some, but it's what happens on the pitch that counts. The lack of goalscorer is an alarming thing at the moment, however, i'm confident that Johnson will be able to solve this problem. Saw someone post on Twitter that Simon Corney shouldn't invest another penny in LJ... I think that was in pinnacle of what i've seen on Twitter. Surely that's the worst thing that can happen now, we desperately need another striker, yet some "fans" would be happy if we spent no money what so ever and just seemingly let Johnson fail with the squad he's got. Football is a transitional game, one where the squad changes and new faces come in every few months, just to freshen it up. If it isn't working, it needs fixing and at the moment, it needs that little bit more investment to take us to the next level, well, to mid-table at least. Sorry for the rant, nothing personal to anyone. Needed to vent my frustration.
  2. Imagine the 15 page OWTB Thread and the twitter trends after that. Christ, Rooney only had to miss a penalty to get a torrent of abuse, indirectly on twitter.
  3. Shots/Shots on target ratio is absolutely crap. Port Vale. 10/2 Walsall. 11/3 Stevenage. 12/2 Shrewsbury. 14/3 The Coventry game is the last decent shots to shots on target ratio i could find with 10 shots and 8 on target. However, that still only produced 1 goal... Come on LJ & SC, get this "major signing" done. Or at least a half decent one.
  4. You're right it is the right thing to do. It should happen every game, no matter who we're playing or how many fans are there. 20 fans or 20,000, at the end of the day, they're their to support you and you should acknowledge that, win, lose or draw. Grates on me when players head straight down the tunnel after a game.
  5. Three at the back? Probably leave us exposed and cost us more goals.
  6. Need a striker in before the end of Jan, preferably before the end of the week. No-one is brave enough to take a chance, to put their in where it hurts or to "run through brick walls." I don't have much faith that we'll scrape through without the addition of prolific goalscorer. Anyone called Lee Hughes?
  7. No cutting edge, again. Same old story. Wonder where we'll be after playing Peterborough and Wolves, not massively optimistic about picking up any points against them.
  8. Seems that way. He's had two men on him in most games recently. Hope this draws two men out wide.
  9. When we appointed Johnson, I expected that we'd be in League 2 now. I had some faith that Lee must have done something magical to impress Corney, being just 32. I have much faith in Johnson now, he's proved to me that he can be both a tactical genius (Look at Mansfield away) but can also have that cutting edge you need to be a lower league manager. (Selling our best player Baxter). Another thing i've also liked is that in Johnson's team, no player has been undroppable, maybe with the exception of Smith, but he's 9 out of 10 times earn't his place in the side. Under the previous regime, players such as Shefki Kuqi, Oumare Tounkara and latterly the failing Furman and Wesolowski partnership were the undroppables - this is something which has, luckily, disappeared. I'd like to re-emphasise Opinions4u's point that our biggest loss of the season has been 0-2. That for me is a great stat and one that proves we're not far away. Let's ride out this season, let's write it off (particularly those who think we should be challenging for top 6, which is a highly unrealistic target). And let's concentrate on staying in League 1. Any places we finish above 20th is a bonus for me. LJ knows what players he'll want to keep come summer and which players can be sold or released (he's already proved that this month getting rid of Sid to Shrewsbury.) I think we'll see a re-energised team next year, one which at the core remains our players from this season, but hopefully with the addition of a cutting edge striker who can pounce on every opportunity he can get. Lee Johnson's Blue and White Army
  10. All Penney's fault. Penney Out. In seriousness, that is a worrying stat and the cup runs over the past 3 years have seemingly masked realities like these. Still though, I don't think we can judge Johnson properly until next season when he can no longer be said to be in a transition from the previous managers team and can be said that he's had a year to build his own team, also allowing them this season to gel.
  11. He could do with a rest. He looks absolutely knackered at times. I'd go with... Oxley Kasunga Tarkowski Grounds Mellor Smith Wes Harkins Dayton MacDonald Philliskirk Although i don't think Philliskirk's best position is on the wing. It's hard to fit him in otherwise - other than that, i'd swap Worrall for Philli if he's fit. Philliskirk could bring some energy into the game after 60/70 minutes when Harkins tires. But what do I know, i'm not a manager...
  12. Is anyone still laughing at my team? Suspect Harkins would have created more chances and we'd have created better chances first half had he been on. All if's and but's like.
  13. MENOAFC ‏@MENOAFC6s 1/2 LJ (on lifting Rooney): "I'm not here to be a social worker. I'm a football manager that needs results." MENOAFC ‏@MENOAFC25s 2/2 LJ: "He's a senior player and if he is down he needs to pick himself up and if a chance comes next time bury it." #oafc
  14. Sounded like we were unlucky not to get a point. Came within a post and a saved penalty of scoring. That said, all we're lacking is that striker with the cutting edge, who can pounce on chances. The Rooney miss late on (from 6 yards out) was a shocker.
  15. Could be a shout. Tweeted as a joke last week when he was on Soccer AM. Would be good if it came true, but it's not a long-term signing is it?
  16. Pie i had at Liverpool was :censored:e. And it was Clayton Park... Liverpool branded water too, what's all that about?
  17. I'll chuck Peterborough into the equation. Although, i'm not sure they can compete with the Premier League money of the 'massive' Wolves.
  18. Don't know whether he's always knackered or just lazy. I hope it's the former. Both can be worked on though.
