  1. Liverpool v Oldham or Mansfield Kidderminster v Peterborough Rochdale v Leeds Charlton v Wrexham Macclesfield v Sheffield Wednesday Sunderland v Carlisle United Grimsby v Huddersfield Town Games that should probably have been given more TV time than those actually picked. Reckon if Sheff Wed and Charlton had to go away to the respective teams then they'd have put them on tele. Shame really.
  2. With us coming up to the festive period and having played 19 league games. I was wondering who everyone thought is the best signing we've made this season. I've gone for Danny Philliskirk, he brings a lot to the team, he's very energetic and seemingly very level-headed on the field. He brings a certain calmness on the pitch and can even score a goal or two. I think Korey Smith, Dayton and Lanzoni run him close though - all good players. Also like what i've seen of JCH so far, can tell that he will become a better player as time progresses. So, if you had to pick one, who would it be?
  3. Spot on Bristol. Don't understand why some people don't understand 9 unbeaten is a great run, as pointed out, not seen since the Shez days! I'm more than happy with LJ and the lads at the moment, they look like they care about the club and winning games and that attitude is highly important in carrying us through the good times but most importantly the more difficult periods. Happier than i was this time last year!
  4. Shez then? Well, does that dispell the myth that Johnson is following the same lines as Dickov? Cheers for that, Mullet.
  5. Nothing like some nice overreaction when the team is unbeaten (over the course of 90 minutes, before someone pulls the penalty defeat) in 9 games. When was the last time we went on a 9 game unbeaten run? Did Dickov ever do it? I'm sure Penney got no-where near either. Johnson is learning and is doing an adequate job, so maybe we should SUPPORT him and the team, rather than jumping to an over reactive conclusion about how once again, we're :censored:e, Which in my honest opinion we're not.
  6. I think he's written what the majority would/do think when they read the post by Rigsby above.
  7. Load of bollocks that Man United are on against Swansea. Rochdale v Leeds would've been better. As would our game, if we get through.
  8. Surely they have a booth where you can buy tickets like an hour before the game? I'm sure other clubs do this because they either can't take money on the gate or it's safer not to...
  9. It's all Paul Dickov's fault. No point saying anything, you're hate for Wes is obviously unchangeable.
  10. 8 previous games before tonight, and the numourous games before that, both at the start of this season and the end of last. If it didn't work, why would LJ have kept the same central midfield pairing for the past 8 months? He's not stupid, being a central midfield player himself i'm sure he'd be the first to spot a failing midfield pairing.
  11. Jesus Christ, Wes has been one of the better players this season. Yes, he may not have bagged goals and what not, but you need to appreciate the work he does along side Smith in that midfield, winning balls and distributing them. He's been liberated to do more since Furman left.
  12. So basically, you slag Johnson off for using Mellor on the left wing, yet you don't have a solution from the 16 that were in the match day squad. I think we're all thinking the same thing now, stop talking :censored:e!
  13. Was in the main stand towards the RRE end and it looked like handball. God knows what the ref saw!
  14. The Baxter Role I mean is playing a Centre attacking midfielder, which Philliskirk plays as. So, I think 'This Manager' is happy with the 'Baxter Role'
  15. Even though Philliskirk, for me, was the best player on the field for Latics tonight. He's moved into the 'Baxter role' quite well...
  16. BP1960, who would you have put at left mid? Considering Schmeltz wasn't in the 16.
  17. In terms of defence... Kasunga worries me when he messes about with the ball, but looks comfortable when it comes to lumping it away or winning a header. Tarkowski has been player of the season so far for me and it's normally Mr Consistant, rarely putting a foot wrong. Lanzoni is a good strong defender, he could be converted into a CB over time, however, i do like him going forward too, his crossing ability isn't too bad and he generally get's it near the centre of the box, it's a shame for most of tonight it was Philliskirk and not JCH getting on the end of them. Matt Smith would have a field day with some of the crosses he puts in. Grounds looked abit shakey and lost at LB tonight, got caught out alot first half, but i think he steadied it up second, from what i've seen this season, I think i prefer him at CB to LB. Hopefully we can get Mills back in Jan, liked him at LB.
  18. I think he fits into the attacking midfield role quite well. He's not an out and out striker!
  19. I don't know whether that was them looking up for it, or us just being slow and sloppy. The latter in my opinion. Considering they're 2nd in League 2 (Correct me if i'm wrong), they brought nothing to the table and finished their 1 real chance of the game. Once it got to penalties it was always the luck of the draw.
  20. Cheering on Fleetwood all the way to Wembley now!
