  1. Confirmed as the new First Team coach. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20130606-murray-857074.aspx
  2. Accrington Stanley have announced the ticket prices for their friendly against Latics at the Crown Ground on Tuesday, July 23rd, kick off 7.30pm. They are: ADMISSION PRICES Adults £12 Concessions (over 65s and under 17s) £8 Under-12s £4 It will be pay at the turnstiles.
  3. Either this, or contractual reasons maybe, in terms of the assistant manager anyway - don't know what the role is about them talking to interested parties when under contract. Do they require permission from the club like managers do?
  4. It was in the MEN or Advertiser that Johnson said it was going to take a little longer. Not bothered though, it's only June 5th and i'd rather take time choosing a good assistant, than going for the quickfire, maybe cheaper option. Gerry Taggart springs to mind. However, I think there will be increacing roles for Byrne this season, if he stays, and then also Philliskirk might be seen working more with the first team and with Johnson, especially with the idea being of bringing players through the ranks, rather than pissing about with the loan system so much. Can't beat having TP around in your backroom staff though for advice and guidance for LJ.
  5. I was mainly talking about actual game sponsors etc. Rather than the TV boys, but you're correct with that point - although, that will mean nothing to Oldham Athletic in 2-3 years time when the money has gone, unless we had another cup run.
  6. Always room for improvement at a different club and under different management. In LJ we trust.
  7. The importance of a cup game sponsor in the long-term though is minimal. The importance of someone that is going to sponsor the team over 23 home league games surely has a higher significance to the long-term survival and futurity of the club. So, in that sense, I do care whether they're here for 1 or 23 home league games. But you're right in the point that Latics capitalised and probably made some decent money out of sponsorship for the Liverpool and Everton games.
  8. This is Oldham Athletic. The OS is only just rolling out the article about a rejected offer from 5 months ago. Expect a takeover tomorrow.
  9. Purely assumptions based on general opinion. I could be absolutely wrong and it might be the best seller ever, but personally, i don't think it will.
  10. To regulars that buy the shirt whatever it looks like. Last seasons kit was seemingly individual that I think alot of people were convinced to buy it who wouldn't normally. I know i'll be keeping my £40 this year anyway.
  11. Kit design this year has been the biggest balls up. Last seasons shirt was liked by most and i don't think i've ever seen so many people wearing it at Boundary Park before. But this seasons, they'll be lucky to sell anything near what they sold of last years.
  12. I'm not convinced that we have enough fans to contribute to the running of the club. Once the new stand is built and if it is proved to make the club self-sufficient as income is more than out-goings, then it would be possible. And that's a big if.
  13. Whilst the trust only have 3% shares. I hope that they are not sold, it is vital that someone from outside of the club is kept on the board.
  14. I just don't want to over-inflate a situation, which people closer to the club than the BBC (Mainly the Chron and MEN) are saying it's very unlikely.
  15. Undecided. All we've heard is whispers from BBC Radio Manchester. Until we have actual confirmation from either Latics or The Consortium, then I might be more concerned.
  16. Does that mean we're keeping the shirt, but just changing the sponsor on it? High price if we are fully changing.
  17. Okay so we payed 10x what you say Colbeck was worth. So, minimum value i've seen is 200k for Baxter - £2million do it for everyone then?
  18. I'd rather :censored: in my hands and clap then see Baxter go for that. Colbeck cost us £60k - if Baxter is only worth £140k more than that, football is well and truly :censored:ed.
  19. Actual Value: ~£500,000 Value (Including Contract length and thinking of futurity and what is best for the club) - £850,000 +
  20. Not surprising in the slightest. Back in League 1 by 2014/2015 with either Doncaster or when Dickov fattens him up again.
  21. Let's not forget he replaced Dave Penney. Player quality has no doubt improved since then!
  22. Some Rumour thing on twitter says Lowe and Harewood. Lowe rumour might have substance, but Harewood is a random one?
  23. I like the badge - it's modern and can be an image of a new Oldham Athletic with the new stand and all that. I also like Everton's new one, even though about 1% of their fan base does.
