  1. Best left wing/full back seen at BP in many a year? Now there is a hostage to fortune, They were damned good of that there is no doubt altho' I wouldn't class Atkinson as a real winger and they were probably together in the team for less than a year before they both got sold. I think Barlow/Holden and Whittle/Groves might have outstripped them and, for one game, (against Hereford?) Jones/Taylor!! And don't get me started on Joe McBride!
  2. you and the big dog are giving me ideas! thank you!
  3. This is a link to that http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nty/8069526.stm If DP rates him, and he must know him really well, then I would have thought we must be favourites over County if we areinterested. Then again if Championship clubs make an offer as well............
  4. Been to the club this morning to buy my 9 year old a pink shirt. We agreed she pays half and I pay half. I asked her what name she wanted on the back and pointed out that it is £1.50 a letter therefore to think wisely. Bearing in mind on her other 4 shirts she has her own name, Smalley, Taylor and Wolfenden, therefore the choice is limited she has gone for Alessandra. We are currently locked in talks. Bring back Stam and J-P K I say.
  5. think you have got this totally wrong BT as i've just been listening to 606 and the only reason Utd/MANU (BBC speak) lost was a crap performance by a Norwegian (as in NORWEGIAN ) ref in the semis. If Utd/MANU had played chelsea tonight as they should have done they would have won dead easy.
  6. and Beckford is on the transfer list... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/8068113.stm
  7. he missed a lot of last year thru injury and even tho' he went to Colchester on loan for the last few weeks I don't think he played every game. I can see a loan deal being what PNE would want for him at the beginning of the season but a full year?
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/8063666.stm Rather surprised really as Douglas played a lot of games last season and was playing at the end Seems like his view of his worth didn't match Grayson's. Lucas has been around a while but if he couldn't keep Ankergren out of the team then...... Both might be worth a look from our point of view I suppose but it seems unlikely that is where we would want to spend the bulk (as it surely would be) of what cash we have. Does it mean Leeds are getting serious or have they run out of dosh and are having to watch the purse strings like everyone else?
  9. Fair point, i had missed that. Wasn't he one of the animals that Scunny has in their impregnable back 4 the year they went up? ps impregnable apart from Gary Mac that is
  10. just spoken to my Darlo mate who reckons Purdie is a good 'un. He is surprised Penney didn't either go for or get Kennedy but reckons it is nailed on that the one who he will be after is Foster who he says is a class act, steady as a rock and too good for Div 4.
  11. sorry to go off topic but thought you might like to know that Alan Carr's dad was Graham Carr the ex- Northampton manager. You couldn't make it up
  12. Was Jason Price at Donny when Penney was there? Seem to have done reasonably well at Millwall
  13. Went to renew our season tickets this morning so was on the look out for any sign of new signings e.g. Ferrari reg RON 9.5. However saw nothing except a tesco van delivering a crate of Kabanos and Polish Spirit and some stamp collectors Rather bizzarely Tommy Wright was there transferring training gear from the boot of his car into the boot of Tony Philliskirk's. Seems like times are really hard if we are pulling a few coats and bibs back. I asked when I should expect my £70 bonus and got what my mother would have called 'an old fashioned look' Onwards and upwards. KTF
  14. so how many times have we lost to the bottom of the league this season? At least twice Never mind it looks like we're all over them and it's only a matter of time. 2-1 I say,Chelski boy with the winner!
  15. astottie

    MOTM Vs. Tranmere

Only person who made any impact at all for me was Kabba. Keeper did ok and couldn't stop the goals but that was as good as it got.
  16. Bugger it lets get carried away!! It might all have gone pear shaped by tuesday neet!
  17. pretty sure I have but may need to get the puncture outfit out - no sniggering at the back please. I have the Bovis shirt with the white splash on the right sleeve which we wore against Wendnesday and for the first season in the First.
  18. The supporter is alleged to have chanted to Mr Mourinho: "You're going home, you're going home". The Inter manager had just seen his team lose 2-0 to Manchester United to crash out of the Champions League competition. The supporter later went into Stretford police station, close to Old Trafford, to report the alleged attack. The fan, who is not from the Greater Manchester area, did not report any injuries to police and did not need treatment. you don't say!
  19. very good!!! Should I dare to set you a trickier one as in, 'it's all gone......... S T I T '
  20. I have tried and failed to find the picture for nail on head but I think you know what I mean.
