    I know he was only on for 5 minutes on Saturday but he couldn't wait to get on and obviously loved it. if we have one of him or Gerrard fit and firing at any given time and Bryan keeps playing and learning as he is then i will be happy and trust Wellens to pick the right combo. He has done alright so far and i think to drop both Clarke and Gerrard so soon into his management career speaks volumes for him.

    I thought Dummigan was too? He seems to have decided that if no one is going to offer him cover from midfield he will play in the oppo half instead to keep them occupied. interestingly although I admired Wellens intent at the time I think bringing duffus on and switching to a back three was an error as it deprived us of Dummigans width. When he went shit or bust at the end and overlapped anyway we nearly scored.

    And Doyle has missed 2 very good chances. Their keeper has been time wasting from 30 minutes.

    I agree about Gardner, i think he works well with the other 2. I would expect Wellens to start Green.

    I'd wondered if it was for dangerous play for clattering gerrard but would he have had to give a penalty then? Don't know if you can for something on a player for your own team.
