  1. decent point that and only one result against us so far
  2. Simmo Croft and Barnard off Smith, Montano and Iwelumo on Crewe 2 Bury 1. Fans not happy
  3. hope they've had time to learn systems 2 and 3 this week then....
  4. according to the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/21955722 Would have thought if they are considering Westley then he must be nailed on.Surprised he's not been appointed already
  5. Acording to my Leeds supporting mate - Bassone: Big time Charlie Not as good as he thinks he is Ok going forward can't defend for toffee Fell out with grayson after starting a few games then never got a look in. If we could cross him with Parker, might get a decent full back.
  6. http://www.bbc.co.uk...hester-21893570 Article on the BBC Asian network today. Not exactly an in depth piece of journalism but still should be an interesting topic for us, using the word 'interesting' with one hand over my eyes and the other with fingers crossed. Not sure where their 20% of the population comes from, I would suggest they must have been looking at a specific area and not including wider areas where some latics support comes from. I think the idea of latent racism still existing is a valid one but.the point about people having work commitments is general and not ethnicity specific therefore a bit weak. The idea of it being traditional for local people is probably more relevant. Danny Bakers idea that you support the team whose floodlights you can see from your bedroom window as a kid.Main thing is that if there is no familial link, probably you watch games on sky therefore you are going to follow the teams that are on there and win things rather than bother with going to the local club where it costs money and you are not guaranteed glory
  7. Would agree that one swallow does not make a summer but am sat here very happy having had a couple of ales. However, we could have been 3 down in the first 5 minutes and they could have had 4 in the second half. We were very vulnerable to crosses into the box the whole game despite mVoto and Tarky performing heroically. At times I didn't see anything that much different than under different administrations but in retrospect the 4 3 3 worked in that Baxter while not seeming to have a really good game still managed to make 2 and score one. Smith had an excellent first half and then tired but I think he may be here for the long term. Grounds was better than his usual excellent self and the free kick routine with Baxter would have provided the goal of the season had MVoto not leapt like a salmon in winter rather than spring. All in all a crucial win and more so after Bury won as well, Anything from the next 2 games will be a bonus and then it comes down to the nitty gritty. Lots to be positive about but lets not get too giddy, he might tell a good tale but he's not the Messiah .....yet
  8. "There is a well known phrase in football that if you are young enough, you are good enough which applies on the field. Isn't it 'if you're good enough, you're old enough'?
  9. Strangely I feel that way too and am really looking forward to tomorrow Initially I felt he wouldn't know enough about the players to put his own team out, but if he's seen us 5/6 times and already taken one session then he should have some idea about who his preferred 11 are. I would expect Smith to start Will be interesting. COYB!
  10. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20130318-johnsonspeaks-721519.aspx 'professionalism, organisation and methodology' Bloody hell, what's wrong with 110%?
  11. pardon my french but will he bollocks. The only thing that consistently brings bums on seat without stadium re generation is winning games on the trot. I heard 3/4 weeks ago that Barmby had thrown his hat into the ring. Could do much worse in my opinion.
  12. Love that evertons shop in Liverpool is called everton 2 and its in Liverpool 1.. I think the club phone number of one of the dundee clubs is dundee 6060 after a famous victory.
  13. enjoyed it mate well done. I struggle to even type a comment on here.
  14. Started taking my daughter when she was about 5 and for the first 2 years she thought Eardley was called 'Bloody Hell Eardley' as a result of the guy 2 rows in front. Currently we sit a few rows in front of a lass in her early 20s who swears constantly at all our players and the ref and any of the oppo who makes a tackle. None of our players can ever be deemed to have been off side of to have committed a foul. However it has made me think about what the quiet guy in front of me thinks about my almost ceaseless commentary on the game.' Hold it, support him. SUPPORT HIM!. play it wide, far post, far post!! oh nooo!' But then of course my view is correct and I have a much better understanding of the game than anyone else so I'm sure they benefit from my expert summary.
  15. I'd still argue that Wabara is and most likely will be a better player than Brown. In particular I'd say he's a better attacking full back and better in the air. However that is irrelevant as Brown is our player and Wabara never was. I think Brown has improved by the game and the one thing that really impresses me about him is that he is never scared to receive the ball. Also today he got left with one of their big lumps on a coupe of occasions when he shouldn't have been and he didn't let himself down.
  16. judging by the q at 5.30, I would suggest they are still selling them now
  17. for a moment there I thought you meant 'representation of the people' !
