  1. http://www.pnefc.net/news/article/garner-makes-permanent-move-080113-586093.aspx Although his creer hasn't lived up to early expectations he's only 24 and I think should have interested most teams in our division. Probably opted for PNE on location and being offered more than a lot of teams (including us) could afford. Be interesting to see how he does. They have a few strikers at PNE now although Akpo Sodje has gone to Scunnny. (He aint Efe, he's his brother)
  2. when does Baxter's contract run to, does anybody know?
  3. Sat in departure lounge at Dublin airport going mental! Will be home in time for the highlights.
  4. Not how I saw it. Wabara slipped got up and slipped again which was how they got away. Did you see it differently?
  5. good job we've got the recall on Cisak, bet Pompey are delighted!
  6. Didn't go today would be interested in your views on the first goal. Russel Slade reckons Derbyshire took the lace out of it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19939676
  7. no idea but likely to have M&S lingerie down one side and 'celebrities' either too fat of too thin in beach wear on the other, I know , I shouldn't know this....
  8. the words 'Matt Smith' and 'very good technique' in the same sentence. Wooohooo!!
  9. and the rarely wrong has excelled itself today in its report on Baxter 'The player says inaction has take its toll on her fitness, but believes he isn’t far short of his best form.'
  10. MK Dons have signed Anthony Kay which i think is a cracking signing. I think they have added well to last years squad and could be the pace setters. Lets hope they take couple of weeks to settle in.
  11. Many times reading posts on this site I think I've seen a different game to the poster, Might be to do with my eyes starting to go or the sharper tactical brain of other people, but tonight my view of our first goal was - City have ball for first 5 minutes and we don't get a kick, City defender on left makes awful pass which falls to trialist A who holds the ball, waits and slips it thru to Simpson who buries it. Here is the OS description Latics established a half-time lead through a terrific goal from Robbie Simpson. It followed a neat move involving James Wesolowski, Dean Furman, Youssouf M'Changama and Lee Croft who supplied the cross for Simpson to convert. Please kind reader tell me - am I losing it?
  12. for who? Can't get onto new site properly.
  13. Thought it was a decent performance, Went with my mate who is a York fan and went in their end (so 210 not 209). Rarely looked under any kind of threat and the front 2 looked like they might be on to something. The interplay that led to the second goal had been done at least twice before but with Taylor on the end of the final pass and he was offside on each occasion. The other way round Taylor laid it on a plate and Simpson buried it - promising. Both wide men came inside a lot strengthening the midfield. Grounds looked like he knew what he was doing and Brown did ok. York fans website said Tarky bossed their forwards. Only concern was our subs were kids emphasising our lack of depth, Really disappointed with Smith but in fairness he only had one half and that with new players around him but I think he is already behind Taylor in the pecking order.Only the left back of the triallists showed anything like. May have been Ridehaugh, might not have been. Young Jacob pulled off one super save. York programme said he is 6 foot 2, which makes me Gulliver in Lilliput,.,
  14. Taylor possibly but not Grounds as i'd recognise him.
  15. Went to pick my ticket up yesterday and Simpson and Tarky came out with 2 lads who looked about 20. Simmo got in his car, Tarky wandered off and the 2 lads got into a taxi. Not a clue who they were though! Both looked like slightly smaller versions of Matt Smith. Hope that helps
  16. I thought that was possible when I first read that he had signed for us and who he was, based on the fact that they suspended him and fined him pretty quickly, as well as showing Evans the door. Lets hope he brings his ability with him and leaves his youth street culture at Bramhall Lane, If he is right then it is a big lesson to learn.
  17. Interesting view that. My recollection of that game was that when we had the ball we battered them and defensively they looked dire ( very iffy keeper but Grounds playing which is slightly worrying) and on the few occasions they had the ball Clarke looked awesome when it came anywhere near him.If we can really afford him, and I'm not sure we can - with the possibility of a fee on top - he could be worth the punt.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18490029 and 2 of them were mentioned on here as possible signings for us. Looks like they may have more cash to splash whenever Di canio stamps his feet
  19. Cue outpouring of anger and dismay on Merseyside and demands that all future Liverpool shirts should have his visage sewed into them. Hodgson must be laughing his socks off. Not only the sacking of the man who's presence undermined him, but on a good day to bury bad news this has deflected from the press's attack on his Euro squad selection,
  20. Interesting report on him on the BBC Marcus Bean including this, There are so many players out of contract," he said. "I don't want to turn something down or leave someone waiting too long, because you know there's going to be a player out there ready to snap it up." Reinforces some of the things said on here about the reality of the world for the released footballer. Not convinced all are as grounded as Marcus appears to be.
  21. cant afford his haircut bill let alone his wages!
