  1. Actually it was really noticeable during the womens World Cup matches (I know....sorry) that the commentators felt they had to speak incessantly for the full match and there were no silences. Even MOTD was like that on Sat. Can commentators not just leave us to watch for a moment or two without stating obvious and useless things simply to fill in the gaps. Must be getting old.
  2. No, I don't think. I thought Turner looked very ineffective and was our poorest. What I would say though is that the quality and experience of our bench against their's was apparent, there were some very young players warming up for Walsall whereas our experience coming on got us a point. I enjoyed the game today.
  3. I really do not get 1. The constant criticism of Brian Wilson on here, he' s a decent league one full back, no more than that. 2. The booing of DK, what's that all about. Idiots.
  4. Bit harsh on Wilson B that, I thought Turner was the only one who didn't turn up today, couldn't get into the game. Burn looks very good on that showing.
  5. Time you let it go now blueguru, getting a tad tedious.
  6. Exactly the team I would chooses sjk. Bringing on Greene if a spark is needed late on.
  7. Can't we all get over this interview analysis, he interviews as well as the average manager, not as good as some but better than others. All this judgement and assumption based on the odd two minute is just a nonsense. Thank you.
  8. Let's not forget that the players must also take responsibility for (and pride in) their personal performances in order to produce an effective team performance. The manager has limited impact once the game starts and you can bet he will pick the starting team that the majority of us would go with. Granted that the prep an formation will be down to Kelly but the players have to step up to make this work.
  9. We get it blue guru, you don't like his interviews, now let it lie and let's see how it goes. Bob Paisley wasn't that good either.
  10. I don't doubt that he is a class act but am still baffled by the signing. Surely the reason we have signed him is because he IS a class act!!!
  11. When I opened the first I immediately thought 'Ian Robins', with the second it was 'Paul Atkinson', don't know why, just a reaction. Who do you picture?
  12. Hopefully he'll be good enough to replace Danny P!
  13. 5 weeks before the first game, sound late, is that the norm? Suppose it must be.
  14. Yes, agreed, but Jimmy Frizzell warrants a mention, he got us from old div 4 to old div 2 (now The Championship) where we stayed for some time before Joe came along and brought in the likes of Groves and Stainrod, two great fans favourites.
  15. He'd be a great signing but unlikely cos of wage demands. Which players have returned to the club and been as good or better second time round? Just wondering.
  16. Be interested to see who he tries to bring in as the 'no. 10', he said we would be surprised how many were out there and that we ought to be able to get someone in that will play that position well. Big role that one, we tend not have too much patience at Boundary Park for the Baxter, Harkins, Daniel Johnson type player.
  17. That was a really poor performance. Why start with both Dieng and Kelly as holding players? that was always going to be dull. Mellor looks too slow for me now and should be released. Likewise Lockwood. Brown is ok but must stop going to ground to win free kicks (by cheating), one outrageous fall in the box which I don't want to see. Penalty felt like a tough decision against us so will be interesting to see again We need to stop playing Jones out wide, get him into the game more in the middle. Much better ball retention when Winchester on for Dieng in the second half but no threat at all on goal, their goalkeeper had to amuse himself by doing a diving header, probably just to keep warm. Shot shy again and will need addressing for next season if we are to threaten the top six.
  18. Anybody else feel we are destined to finish 16th again!!!
  19. Meanwhile...........we are four points off the play offs with seven games left. Keep dreaming everyone, the seasons over soon.
  20. 13,000 home fans, that's magnificent for this league isn't it, we wouldn't bring in that many in consistently in the Premiership!
  21. Aren't we forgetting the huge advantage our plastic pitch gave us back in the day!
  22. Look, we play Peterborough at home, if we take a bold standpoint and say we will win that one then we are only one point behind them with seven games left. Game on in my view. It's about attitude and belief which I think Holden is doing his best to instil, something he was ridiculed for on this board a couple of games ago!
