  1. Rain seems to have cleared most the snow and ice, warmer than it has been all week i think it be on.
  2. Makes a change from yanks and loaded buisness men. Be interesting to see how it works. Danish fan company takes over Croydon http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...nf/9250548.stm Non-league football A company comprising Danish fans who love English football will take a controlling interest in Croydon Athletic on 1 January. Fodboldsekskabet A/S will work alongside current owner Mazhar Majeed, who will retain 49% of the Ryman League Premier Division side. The company, headed by Palle Rasmussen and Christopher Baadsgaard, is made up of over 400 Danish investors. Rasmussen revealed the company had looked at seven clubs in England. The takeover has been front page news in Denmark and travel excursions to Croydon's ground, the KT Stadium, are already being planned. 606: DEBATE Croydon fans - What do you think to your new Danish owners? There are also plans for the club to bring in Danish Championship players in January. Rasmussen was linked with the takeover of Chester City in February before the club was liquidated. Croydon hit the headlines earlier this year when Majeed was linked to the spot-fixing controversy in the England-Pakistan cricket series. As well as being arrested in connection with the cricket betting scandal, Majeed was also the subject of investigations into alleged fraud and money-laundering involving the club. In September, after HM Revenues and Customs (HMRC) froze Majeed's assets, the club's manager Tim O'Shea and his assistant Neil Smith left. Croydon also postponed two league fixtures and withdrew from the FA Cup. Majeed subsequently paid a £10,000 bond to the Ryman League so that Croydon could fulfil their fixtures for the rest of the season.

  5. I went to the world cup in South Africa and thought the site of empty staduims, FIFA would want to maximise as much money as they could in future, where else could they charge high prices England would be ideal. I am dissapointed we lost the bid i can accept Russia is a footballing nation, with some history. But Qatar lets get real. A year ago Mohamed Bin Hammam the president of Qatar fell out with FIFA. Also he has threatened to stand against Sepp Blatter in the next FIFA election. I wonder if this upset the current commitee members who may have panicked. 2026 i suspect will go North America, Africa or Australia if they bid as Oceania, but am guessing 2030 will go to a South America nation as its the Centenary 100 years of the world cup. So am guessing it be 2034 at the next oppotunity to bid. I think we should just go for the Euro 2020 championships.
  6. They where due to host the final of Rugby League emerging nations world cup final in 2000 but it got called off. I worked at that biggest massive failure when it comes to hosting an event, poorly marketed, Rugby League taking games to places that never heard of it. Eventually they gave out free tickets for the final. But seemed to have learned from that with there last world cup.
  7. This is Frank Drebin, Police Squad. Throw down your guns, and come on out with your hands up. Or come on out, then throw down your guns, whichever way you wanna do it. Just remember the two key elements here: one, guns to be thrown down; two, come on out!

  9. Positive ok we drew we where 3-0 however if we had won last night and drawn 3-3 with Huddersfield would anyone of took that in a game we where not expected to win.
  10. Sounds good and link to where the City fans are complaing about?
  11. Mansfield same season got there late, Accrington a few weeks agoin the fa cup so much for a 30 min bus ride, getting back and to Northampton in the Dowie season and year after we played Cheltenham did not even make it to kick off.
  12. I was gutted i was not able to go to any of the games during Euro 96. However South Africa was a great experince for us but i would like to see the World cup in England. Personally England would create the most money in hosting a world cup. We have the transport links already and FIFA know they could get away with charging Sky high prices games. Plus am pretty sure even low key games such as a Ghana v Serbia would still get a decent crowd fact we are now such a large diversity nation. Of course the likes of Jack Warner and Blatter are going to keep on having ago at England. The fact the prime minister wants to meet Warner, he knows how to play off the political parties. Although the Holland bid could be a dark horse and Spain i think could host it on there own without Portugal.
  13. Great decision by the fa to finally commence building however i can garuntee if the proposal had been to build it in London it would not of took so long and no dis respect to Burton Terry, it seems like the FA have looked at every get out clause they can to take this project back to the capital. Still good on them for keeping it in Burton.
  14. Do you still apply online or just order them over the phone?
  15. 470 seems to be a good number, also its a new ground for most fans so those eager to make it to all 92 will proberly go, also the coach from the rifle range.
  16. Although i come from Oldham i remember years ago a pub near Fenchurch street or tower hill tube called the Minories.
  17. Tried getting into nice idea but be never as good as beyond the Boundary.
  18. Not worth it mate as someone said its 30-40 min walk and its mainly up hill also depends which way you decide to walk via ChADDERTON Hall school or directly up towards Broadway. Pretty sure there is a bus from Royton going the old 412 route which goes to Shudehill bus station 5min from Manchester Victoria Sixtey something is the number.
  19. Another cup run would of been decent and show the support for Failsworth bit of media exposure to go in are favour if we draw a big team.
