  3. This article seen on Twitter gives him a good write up http://channelronline.net/2016/07/ghanaian-striker-darius-osei-scores-for-english-non-league-side-stalybridge-in-pre-season-win/
  4. Don't worry they got AFC Flyde on there doorstep now
  5. Reading on Twitter some West Ham fans saying only first team games to be played at there new Staduim
  6. Few people seemed suprised on my stance towards the English Football League trophy. So let's put my overall opinion into pespective. I support Oldham Athletic and will continue to do so. I want them to do well every year in every competition win every game (yeah I know it won't happen) Each year I hope we would win the JPT. Yes it was a Longshot, but can every football fan not dream? I was 11 in 1994 when I saw Oldham Athletic play Manchester United in the FA cup semi final and lose. I remember as a 7 year old lad stood with my Dad waiving everyone jumping on the train at Shaw and Crompton the board the Football special to the 1990 Littlewoods cup final. In there hats and scarfs I didn't go I was young. But hoped one day I see us experience another glory moment like that. I love the FA cup and the League cup, we may have not had much cup runs since 1994. But the Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton games the magic, the excitement, the buzz, knowing we would see big name players at Boundary Park and the euphoria when we won yes. Yes we won against 3 big teams, these games you cannot script these events. Oldham a team that cost half a fraction of there squads beating the big boys. Now fast forward to this year playing against Premier League B teams. Made up of mainly youth players. Most of them unheard off sadly most will end up being released. Just ain't quite the same is it? Ok some teams do play weaken squads in some of the cups but you will still see a fair few known players. Yes the JPT may have not been the most glamorous cup in some teams eyes. But try taking that moment away from the teams who have won it or at least reached the final? A Southampton fan even said on Twitter if there reserves win it won't be the same as when they actually won it as a League 1 club. I would love us to play at Wembley and can tell you as someone who has watched England play there it's not the same feeling as watching your own club play there. The years we went out to Wrexham and Chesterfield in the Northern final I was gutted. For that reason alone I cannot get excited or actually want to attend games. For me it's simply giving in to the bigger teams taking away another potential big moment for the smaller clubs. Don't get me wrong I like watching reserves and youth team football the Manchester Senior cup and Lancs youth cup but that's because what them competitions cater for reserve teams. If you choose to attend that's your choice.
  7. Have we not got Man United next week in that Delayed Lancashire Senior cup tie?
  8. To be fair to the trust after Barry Owen finally stepped down whoever took on his role had a huge mountain to climb. Some fans on Twitter have ago at Simon Brooke for every little thing however as Josh Latics mentioned progress had been made. Maybe only in small doses but it's a start. With a lot of new people jumping on the trust to be they need atleast 18 months before you can make an overall judgement. Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of work that needs to be done & even now you still have some fans asking how they can get in contact, when are the meetings.
  9. Was it was Dinamo Bucharest we played that night, Steua was behind closed doors at Leigh Sports village. Can we add the Isle of Mann, Lost a friendly to Falkirk when Dickov was in charge played at Northwich Vics, Diego Sideburns was there also. Rhyl a few seasons back first night the Ernie Flag was launched. In 2002 at Witton Albion ground I saw us play Thailand under 19 national side, it was our youth teams as part of a 3 team tournament along with Manchester City youth side. Andy Ritchie was there. Following season suppose to have been bigger with both Old firm clubs sending there youth teams down, China under 19 to be plate sat Radcliffe Boro & Stalybridge but was called off due to the SARS outbreak.
  10. Was mentioned by me and Savagethebeaat in a earlier discussion on Twitter we once played Internacional from Brazil.
  11. Yeah ment played at Chapel Rpad good point about the Lightning.
  12. Just thinking the last 3 seasons the youth team have reached 3 cup finals in consecutive years. Over the years seen a fair few youth teams games, with the loan system changing think it's even more important we now delvelop are own players. Which got me thinking of youth team home games where played on a Friday evening rather than on a Saturday would more people attend. Also think if we had any late injuries which ment a player being called up to the first team gives them that extra time to prepare if need be. Also the bigger crowds offered more encouragement to them. Just an idea anyway.
  13. Just the name of a OAFC Facebook group one called Realstic fans & many others on there also.
  14. Ground ain't ready first game planned there is a friendly with Blackpool Brett Ormrod Testimonial
  15. Mike Flynn, Matthew Tipton & Mark Innes all on Facebook Craig Dudley often drinks in the Bluebelle
  16. My worry rather we try get players on 2 years deal set the foundations do build a team that an carry us forward rather than be broke up or replaced with more short term deals.
  17. Remember him having a great game against Rochdale
  18. Could of been the Premier League who approached them rather than the clubs. Seeing fans voicing there concerns enough to make them think not worth it or having to open there staduims to a crowd way below 5,000 fans.
  19. He was released Anyway hardly played no big loss
  20. Back page of the Chron says he his training with Bradford
  21. Sale ends tonight very few £10 return singles left.
