Morning all, I have spoken with my source at the club (reveal it again was R.Reid), who i get things through by asking one my really good mates at Brentford and he has confirmed that I expect through talking to the lads still at the club we ARE at advanced stage of talks with Hughesy As said before he told me that Tonks would not be signed 6 weeks ago and was correct Told me 2 weeks before was done that Simpson would sign on again The message I got was it was far from a done deal but there was a nominal fee involved and he is not the only striker we are in talks with To confirm Hughes as well did NOT play in the friendly on Tuesday behind closed doors

I said nearly 6 weeks ago on here that Tonks would not be signing, I have heard he is in talks with Torquay but dont know how much truth in that

I really like PD and yes the league IMO is weaker than last year... At the top that is though not the areas where we will finish, the worry for me is we lack so so much in an expericed head and feel there is a lack of leadership in our side The good news is we still have time to correct this I just hope PD has learnt from some of his mistakes last year, the point made about PD realtionship with the board is a good one, they do seem united and that is good as a fan If we finishded 20th I think that would be a massive success based on what we have at the moment

I have been to Pompey once with Arsenal, got to say one of the best days out ever been to bar none! Their fans are unreal! They will create hell of an atmopshere My advice is if you are not 100% on going to this one do it! I know exactly how to get there but not sure how good i could advise you as I am in the Gloucester, i would ask diego sideburns mate he does the travel updates in the past
