  1. I posted something similar last year when we played doncaster twice in a week. Majority chose the league game, yet quickly chose their mind once the fa cup unravelled. Tbh i would say the fa cup purely for finance reasons. This competition has provided us the foundations for what we are seeing develop this season. I dont think even elwinning the jpt could provide the same finance the fa cup has recently. however we will win both, win the jpt beat arsenal at the emirates and get promotion within 18 months. Mark my words
  2. What is wrong with sat? Dont think the film would have the same ring to it if it was called when sunday comes, plus thats when i pop round me ma's for sunday roast beef and gravy. Stick to sat. Im a traditionalist.
  3. Usually im a traditionalist but i cant really take that line having only sat in there on the rare occasions my dad doesnt go to a game and its pay on the day (friendlies jpt usually). the view is awful there is no bar the acoustics crap unless its full and imo lost its tradition before we even played a game in the premiership. I take the line where we should try to make the most of the hand we have been dealt. best idea so far imo is using the little section as a family stand, chaddy as away section and the masses in the big rre. Priced sensibly i reckon you could attract not lose fans going that way. Yes you would lose a few staunch chaddy enders along the way but with the way the club is shaping up on and off the field i dont believe it will be many and newbies will make up for them. Those who really do become vocal about losing tradition and refuse to come if home support is moved from the chaddy are simply standing in the way of progress imo and are akin to the nimbys who for years stopped the development in the first place.
  4. Think they should keep it flexible tbh as they do now by moving season ticket holders for certain games. If we are playing stevenage on a tuesday, stick them in the chaddy and give latics the rre. If like weekend we are playing bradford or sheff or leeds etc revert to giving the away the full rre and stick latics back in the chaddy. They do it now why cant it continue when we get a 4th stand
  5. Ill use the bar etc but no way im giving up my front row upper tear seat for anyone. Best seats in house.
  6. Id love to have heard it but the speakers dont work in the white block and havent done all season
  7. Was always a devotee of the official. Never used jk. Was because we're oldham before philliggi but not swayed from philliggi in about ten years
  8. He was my first choice to replace dickov when he got sacked at forest. Gutted when we were slow to act and he went to bristol instead. Just hope - and i think he is - johnson is the type to stick around at kne club long enough to build something and see his efforts bear fruit. Cant see him doing a bruce or a saunders at the first opportunity somehow
  9. Football has seen many twists and turns over the years. One can only hope we see another major turn somewhere along the line which makes it possible once again for small clubs to succeed
  10. Tbh those figures are fudged alittle as they include cup games so ya cant really use it as a league guide. But i agree we are looking good at the moment
  11. We seem to have turned a corner recently and i wouldnt say its a flash in the pan either. We have steadily improved over the last six weeks turning 1-0 defeats into 1-0 victories. Notts county aside we have improved slightly week on week and things look good for christmas if things continue. People wont have noticed us steadily climbing just yet, but a win on tues could see us climb into the top half. 4 points from the next two would be a good return going into a tough run up to christmas. Great win may there be many more!!!
  12. It would be quite interesting to see what percentage of our support has never seen anything but league one football. Im a little older and just about got to see the premier days but they are a vague memory. Ive never seen us get promoted. Sad really when im in my 30th year.
  13. Oxford went the other way. Someone mentioned watford but i dont remember them being at our level thought they had always been championship while we have been here
  14. Tbh ive never been the biggest corney fan but since johnson has come in i havent had a problem with him. It was a very bold appointment in the first place and he took an awful lot of stick with it. Since then the small meet the manager sessions have gone down a storm, the stadium has come on no end, johnson has been backed with lengthy contract and a sizable squad and even the marketing team worked wonders in the summer. We might not be pulling up any trees in the league but slowly, you get the feeling this club is pulling itself round and if it takes three years so be it. However i feel a real push will be possible next season.
  15. There are a few numpties in the upper main stand. Im a season ticket holder on the front row and tbh i prob have one of the best seats in the house. If it wasnt for this id move from there in a heartbeat. Gotta say though the main stand has got an undeserved rep for this. I fully agree there are one or two vocal idiots but most agree they are idiots and they quite often get shouted down. You get them in every stand at bp its simply a case of there being little atmosphere in there so the idiots are more easily heard.
  16. I actually think this league is as wide spread as we have seen at this stage of the season for many a year. 2 or three games ago a four point gap emerged beteeen top and bottom and as you say there are ten points seperating the two zones already. Its not about the play offs this year its about progress. Next year is the one and i recon lj is building for that. Although k will say im looking forward to feb/march when all these paperthin squads start folding and we can call on our comparitively large squad for cover.
  17. On the way out of the gates overheard a conversation between three or four lads whose general opinion was we didnt play well but still got the result. For me we changed our style today. Less of the attractive football but that was intentional to play agressive hustling football not giving swindon a chance on the ball they looked pressured and harried everytime they were in possession and i think latics deserve credit for that. Tactics were implemented exceptionally well today and everyman to a tee did his bit. I would say we wouldnt have won that playing the usual attractive football we have seen this season. Different style of play, but to say we didnt play well for me is an insult. Well done latics
  18. Score board is a luxury we dont particularly need so we wont be getting one
  19. Presumably he thinks the new stand will have floodlights on the roof but no they are going to stay for now. Think this will be built much earlier than people believe personally
  20. But if we win it i bet you would be an england fan thru and thru and always had been. I know so many people who say they dont follow england could give a toss about that shower of :censored:e overpaid fancy dans and call them every chance they get but if and when we ever do do anything on a euro or world stage i bet they will be the first celebrating with their newly bought england shirt and scalf. I follow england and want them to do well. Granted i would choose club over country anyday but it doesnt mean i want to see them fail.
  21. Theres football played elsewhere that isnt latics? The worlds gone mad. Mad i tell ya
  22. Is that the general consensus then? Rachubka to start a week on sat and oxley on the bench?
