  1. personally im in favour of this, its a bold move and more thought out than simply pulling the trigger. most have said taggart and butler do cack all, so who knows what impact an experienced no 2 will have on the team. can only be positive. we have seen with wins against crewe, preston and the draw at sheffield just how well this team can play, and no matter what you say, dickov has his plus points. im all for this, as long as the appointment of a no2 is, as we anticipate, not only a coach, but a mentor for dickov. if its just another taggart we may as well bang our head against a brick wall
  2. bit harsh to say taylor is no good. im not saying he is good enough, but when we have only seen him for ten minutes a couple of times this season, its a bit early to judge. smith meanwhile is a squad player for us and no more. he is someone to bring on tactically when things aint going right. this is not to say he is no good, we simply dont have the players to compliment his style.
  3. Just a thought, most people tonight think he should go, but how many of you would change your mind if we were to employ a technical director or someone to help dickov out like I presumed Royle was going to do when Dickov was appointed.
  4. the wingers and full backs, and until recently the attack are just fine. the problem comes in the middle and at the back. mvoto and tarki are too prone to mistakes while weslowski and furman are soft as :censored:. byrne is ok for me. sort them 3 positions out and we would probably be a top half outfit. but no, 3 of the 4 positions you need hard men in are powder puff
  5. It seemed like the substitution to bring miller on was simply because he thought he needed to be be seen making subs. his body language at the end of the game said it all. Think he is resigned to the sack now. Ive been one of these to say keep him, purely because we cant afford anyone better, but 4 defeats in a row, in the manor we have lost them has swayed my judgement.
  6. its not as simple as sacking a manager tho is it. nobody knows his severance terms, but its quite possible sacking him and his staff could cost us all of this seasons fa cup money. if we do this regualrly as is the norm before dickov came, we end up paying out massive sums of money.
  7. i agree with every word glossop says. i agree dickov isnt performing, but unless the club can get a billy davies/odriscoll/holloway etc, someone with proven experience and is clearly a better option than dickov, i wouldnt replace him with any old random manager, like penney/talbot etc. im not saying we are in a position to get these managers, im just using them as outstanding examples. i would hate to end up with alan knill, les parry or gary simpson, which is far more likely than landing paul jewell
  8. who would you realistically want to replace him? and who do you actually think would get it? got this list from the league managers website. its current, except alex mcleish has been appointed at forest. quite obviously some are out of our reach. the list is in no particular order Alan Knill Gordon Strachan Mick Wadsworth Phil Brown Alan Shearer Iain Dowie Micky Mellon Richard O'Kelly Alex McLeish Jamie Pitman Neale Cooper Roberto Di Matteo Andy Scott Jim Magilton Nick Barmby Roy Keane Andy Thorn John Barnes Owen Coyle Sammy McIlroy Avram Grant John Sheridan Paul Groves Sean O'Driscoll Billy Davies Keith Millen Paul Hart Simon Davey Brian Horton Kenny Dalglish Paul Ince Steve Cotterill Dave Penney Lawrie Sanchez Paul Jewell Steve Kean Gary Megson Lee Bradbury Paul Peschisolido Sven-G. Eriksson Gary Simpson Les Parry Paul Simpson Terry Brown Geraint Williams Mark Hughes Peter Jackson Terry Connor Gerard Houllier Mark McGhee Peter Reid
  9. personally id go: boozy wabara, tarky, byrne, grounds furman mellor croft baxter montano smith/A.Nother give them a brief to get it on the deck wide to croft and montano, getting the crosses in to the central man. croft and montano can sit in when the oppo have posession. the reason i say A.N other is when smith plays we tend to boot it direct rather than using the wide man. Derbyshire would be perfect but hey ho :censored: happens. We ripped Preston a new arsehole playing this system but since then its gone out the window. question i ask is why
  10. ive said it before, and ill keep saying it, we could have The special one in charge but the way the club is set up, we will never succeed. its no coincidence we look substandard year on year, no matter what the personnel, or manager in charge. until we have a budget that puts us in the top ten in the league we will forever be :censored:e. im not saying corney is doing a bad job. all i am saying is people seem to believe that sacking dickov and bringing in manager X will solve our problems. but while he is working under the same circumstances he will fail as well. corney needs to find investment for the club to progress and that aint going to happen anytime soon, so i say stick with a manager we know can deliver 16th, rather than gamble on someone who could possibly take us to 21st. if things change (sir alex fancys a challenge, or a fan wins the euros on christmas day) then maybe think about changing the gaffa, but until then, i would rather stick with dickov than swap for another average joe. the only reason i would get rid of dickov is we slipped into the relegation zone and spent a few weeks there
  11. watchin that film makes you realise just what a depressing place oldham is these days
  12. looks like i was wrong then. we heard the one paul dickov chants later on when we were winning.
  13. like i said im not 100% sure, but it deffo sounded like " we want dickov out say we want dickov out " i wasnt the only one to hear it, or mishear it as the case may be.
  14. concerned me at times just how often he looked to pass it back to cisak, and also takes freekicks too quickly. but all round he definately has potential, especially going forward
  15. i do being as it frankly makes us look piss pot
  16. did i hear right, in the first half when we were trailing, chants of dickov out eminating from the rocky? wee bit harsh dont ya think, considering how well donny are doing in the league, and our two victories before we met them. funny how the team shut the doubters up as well
  17. the bit in the middle looks like a kid didnt want to follow conformity so took a spray can to to it and got bored
  18. I wouldnt say any premier league club. would hate to get reading or southampton away. gotta be one of the top ten for me. or some :censored: non league side at home
  19. dickov will only get the boot if we dont win a game between now and christmas. corney has become quite patient with the trigger finger under dickovs reign
