  1. but again, as i understand it, the town hall development doesnt, so effectively no conflicting interests?
  2. as i understand it the new stadium will not now incorporate any facilities like this. it will solely be a football stand/conference centre/function room sort of gaff. dont think this latest venture ever had a cinema development attached to it. personally dont think it will effect us in the slightest. if all the things jim mcmahon is talking about actually happen - and currently there are no reasons for them not to happen - i think it will only be good for the club.
  3. is that financially? or just cos preston have them all?
  4. yeah, anything and everything to do with latics as long as its 1 single event/non event

  6. He had a good career in the 80's, but its still not one i would compare to the likes of bruce and hughes. and in any case, my first choice would have been an experienced topflight manager rather than any retiring ex pro
  7. Granted he was an international, but i wouldnt class him as a household name. im talking about someone who was a national figure, like Bruce/Hughes/Robson/Dimatteo etc have been. we could have attracted someone of this ilk at the time. But we got Sharp, the cheap option.
  8. I say 18 years because if i said 20 everyone's choice would be the Hughes goal, and it would be a pretty boring topic. Basically, since relegation from the premiership. what single event (I.e. goal, transfer, missed penalty) would you change? I'm not talking about a whole series of events that come under one banner, like the moore era, or the season from january - may that saw us fall from top to 6th and just scrape the playoffs under sheridan. Which SPECIFIC event would you change. Mine would probably be the appointment of Graeme Sharp after we got relegated, and Royle joined everton. there were serious calls for Ritchie to get the job back then, but looking back i dont think that would have been a good call either. we needed an experienced head, or even a big name retiring player to take the reins, and could attract some decent players. as it were Sharp was in-experienced, and basically useless, and as they say, the rest is history.
  9. and if you lok at a few national league 1 forums, some of them signings are average at best in many peoples opinion. only time will tell.
  10. It is a similar debate. Not taking into account the reasons, but both would cause controversy in signing them, and there would probably be 10 pages worth of debate if we were to sign either one. obviously causing a death doesnt compare to doing the dirty on us, but its the fact signing either one would split opinion. personally im of the opinion that if they improve the team, and dont bankrupt us in the process id sign them. doesnt mean i would walk round wearing their name on the back of my shirt, but i would cheer when they score.
  11. Its a similar debate to the lee hughes one. the guy is a prick. everyone knows he is a prick. but he is a good footballer. do you go with the fact you know he will score you goals, or do your morals come first?
  12. wasnt smalley supposedly the better player at youth level between him and spencer? he just happened to be injured at the time everton came knocking?
  13. Id sign him. then proceed to hurl abuse, rotten tomatoes, rocks, heavy artillery and the kitchen sink in his direction as he runs along the touch line in front of me.
  14. I would definately give them some game time. who knows what would have happened if we had played them from january onwards. they might have flopped, but they certainly wouldnt have done any worse than what we actually played. if i were gaffer id be getting an experienced backbone in and pad out the team with youth players. on a reduced budget as we are id be putting the majority into experience in the right areas. keeper, 2 central defenders, 2 centre mids and a striker. the rest i would play youth. rather that than some third rate loanee or has been.
  15. has to be declared at start of season. the narrower the pitch the better your players need to be at detailed intricate passing. can you really see us playing like barca next year?
  16. love the colour, and the stripes, hate the shininess of it. so so cheap looking
  17. whats the league name for this? wont let me sign up with only a pin
  18. Is it just me that doesnt understand this? why do we have to pay it? and why has it got anything to do with us when effectively oldham athletic went bust in 2004?
  19. maybe its a pulling tool. "SIGN FOR US AND YOU GET A FREE HOLIDAY TO PORTUGAL"?
  20. how the hell can he not get the job after all the :censored:e they have had since mourinho left? he has done in 4 months what they have wanted for 10 years!! if i was a chelsea fan i wouldnt even swap him for Pep!
  21. could be the answer to all our problems. this is one funny dude, looking at some of his other vids had me in stitches
  22. i dont want him here. he doesnt do enough for me.
