  1. Its crap. what do i want to watch bury or rochdale for. quite possibly they will both be relegated anyway. and if they aint then you can guarentee the dervy wont be in th offer
  2. that bookies was laughable. had simpson, mancini and clarke on our squad list to score first. shows how much homework they do. wonder if anyone was daft enough to back any of them? on another note, IF Clarke had played for them and scored, would they have paid out, baring in mind he was down as a latics player to score first?
  3. Hope its not Swindon. would take barnet any day. hate playing against swindon. nothing against them as a club, just i have this thing that swindon are one of our bogie clubs. quite enjoy the away day.
  4. personally id be looking to get a left back and a central defender in. shipped far too many goals in the first half of the season. id only get them in mind if they are conciderably better than clarke and black. every time we come up against someone who has done their homework we get raped down our left flank
  5. personally i think the vast majority of that is intended to portray lfc in a good light. this is all that needed to be said, the rest is a publicity stunt
  6. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2083932/Liverpool-apologise-Tom-Adeyemi-race-row.html Liverpool have apologised to Tom Adeyemi, the Oldham defender who was allegedly racially abused at Anfield on Friday night. The club were left reeling following allegations that one or more supporters on the Kop had reduced 20-year-old Adeyemi to tears by calling him a ‘black b******’ and a ‘black c***’. A 20-year-old man from Aintree was arrested and bailed by police in connection with the incident. Liverpool's statement read: 'Liverpool Football Club has been forthright and resolute for many years in its stance against racism and any form of discrimination. 'The Club has worked actively to combat discrimination and has been at the forefront of social inclusion and community activity in football, winning awards and commendations for its work throughout the world. And this Club is determined to continue its part in working with the game's ruling bodies and the other organisations active in this area. 'Whatever the outcome of what is now a police investigation, all of us are deeply sorry for what happened on Friday night and our players and our Club pass on our sincere regrets to Tom Adeyemi for the upset and distress he suffered as a result of the matter at hand. Holding back: Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt tries to calm Adeyemi after the incident 'Our supporters are renowned thoughout the world for their outstanding commitment, passion and fairness. They are drawn from nationalities across the globe with widely diverse backgrounds and heritages. The actions of any one individual do not represent our fans. Their stance on these issues is just as resolute as the Club's. We have a very clearly stated public stance on discrimination and intolerance with dedicated staff that work hard daily on programs in this important area. 'Regarding the incident that occurred on Friday evening, we have given Merseyside police every possible assistance we can and will continue to provide the necessary support to their investigation in order to ensure this particular incident is dealt with properly. We will continue to take the strongest possible action(s) against unacceptable behaviour during our matches.' That's him: Adeyaemi points out the culprit at Anfield Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2083932/Liverpool-apologise-Tom-Adeyemi-race-row.html#ixzz1itjeJZll
  7. as daft as it sounds, and im not talking from a football point of view but a financial one, I believe the Huddersfield game is a big one. 6000 fans were at anfield and saw us play very well for 65 minutes, and if we were to win against Hudds it would be very interesting to see the crowd at Home the following week to exeter. now obviously, the exeter fixture is one which you can usually guarentee a sub 4000 crowd, but with the 6000 crowd at anfield and a good win at huddersfield i would hope for another 500+ on the usual gate at least. now before you all start having a go, i know this would be a very big ask, and any result at hudds is a good one, but i think football fans in general are very short sighted and only look at the last result. if we get beat comfortably at hudds you can guarantee the usual 3400 for the exeter game. would be nice to up it somewhat. we are due a perfomance at hudds
  8. as of mid day yesterday there were 475 sold. but i expect that figure to be nearer 800 now they have had fans arrving for the 23 official coaches, and had a sat morning of sales.
  9. Your comments magnify all that is wrong with football. what is the difference between being born welsh and being born black? both are a unique group that are no inferior or superior to the next. the fact they are different to yourself is used as an insult and by pure definiton is wrong.
  10. I was on a bus today which sung racist songs time and time again. in hindsight i wish we would have chose a different bus. the targets for abuse in these songs were welsh, asian, black, a whole host of abuse i wish never to hear on a football venture. i find it quite ironic and idiotic then how our own fans can sing these songs, and yet in the next breath sing "town full of racists". Its quite a sad fact that the majority of the fans there tonight will not be at the majority of games over the course of the season, yet it is idiots like this who we remember. i feel for tom i really do, but to me there is no difference in calling tom with "black" chants and bellamy with "welsh" chants. football is a complete farce and it needs to hand out much harsher penalties than "a lifetime ban".
  11. Lol Im forever calling him tom clarke. getting him and his brother mixed up. As for the Eardley/Lee debate, Literally everything we do going forward starts through Lee. weather he makes the tackle and plays it out, plays a neat one two or beats a man, everything starts with him. Eardley was never the greatest defender, and for me lumped it forward too much. Im still amazed he played a full season in the premiership. Not Eardley bashing though, Im not comparing them as individuals, im comparing them as to what they added to the team as a whole. I would still choose Lee over Eardley today. On the Hughes/ Kuqi thing, I might have worded it badly. I actually meant Hughes got 18 in a full season, I feel Kuqui would get more given a full season. Remember we only signed him 5 or ten games in. On the face of it, I would much rather take Todays squad to merseyside than that we took in 2008
  12. Green The payers are well matched Red the 2008 Player is stronger Blue Todays player is stronger Mark Crossley Alex Cisak Much stronger Lomax (84' Thompson) Black Very Similar, none are exceptional Eardley {c} Kiaran Lee Lee adds more to our all round game Hazell Tom Clarke The Hazell of old was very good. Stam Mvoto Like Black/Lomax, none are exceptional McDonald Scupuzzi More flair and is more likely to provide Kalala Dean Furman Furman is Head and shoulders above Kalala Allott James Weslowski Doesnt go missing as Allott did alot Davies SimpsonSimpson is great, but so is Davies Hughes Shefki Kuqi Kuqi would score more than 18 given a full season I feel, which Hughes failed to do Smalley Chris Taylor Not a big Taylor fan, but he is much better than Smalley Subs not used Black Pogliacomi Wolfenden Alessandra
  13. doubt they will sell many until tommoro. I cant get down there until tommoro. got the whole day off work for the FA cup game so picking my tickets up for the JPT on the way to the Rifle. Should sell a few come weekend as well, Especially when we win tommoro night
  14. I dont get why people presume we have to have a brand spanking new stadium like chesterfield/colchester etc. I would hate for us to go down the same route. personally think it would be an acceptance we are never gunna get any higher than league 1 ever again. what would the harm be in spending the majority of the budget on a 5000 seater main stand with all the facilities etc. very similar to hudds main stand. leave the rest as it is for now, arguably the main stand needs ripping down but the rre and the chaddy are perfectly acceptable- probably better than average actually for our level. if we ever do reach new levels we can think abbout further redevelopment then, but its the confrencing and banqueting stuff we need desperately.
  15. im sure corney will be queing up and photocopying his signature onto a pre prepared contract
  16. to be honest suarez not playing simply means its highly likely bellamy and carroll will play. not being funny thats over 40 million quids worth of strikers right there regardless if you agree with carrolls price tag or not. hardly the reserves is it. i highly doubt he would have played even if he was allowed too, given the two games either side
  17. Agreed, but If you were in dickov's shoes who would you rather manage at this precise moment? blue tinted specs aside? I have no doubt dickov will still be with us for a while yet. 2 games against the bottom of the league is all that stands between us and wembley. I very much doubt dickov will let the team relax because of chesterfields league status and i rmain quite confident ill be walking up wembley way in the near future
  18. how much would a safe standing area - if any - add to the total capacity of any given stand? for example if we were to make the rocky safe standing, how would the 4600 capacity be affected? ive always thought that the same space for a standing place, and the current seat space is the same, meaning the rocky would hold exactly the same. is this correct?
  19. is that the full fixture list for january? bloody hell my season ticket will be covered in cobwebs by the time we play exeter
  20. this is precisely why i believe we should be tying him down to a proper contract. just to add tho, comparing the two clubs, would he want to leave? yes obviously they are much bigger, have bigger budgets etc, but in the short term latics are much more attractive. anfield day out, possible trip to wembley, a team he can realistically call his own and the full support of everyone at the club. if he wants to leave he could leave in the summer after possibly winning something. i must add i dont think he would want the preston job and will look to finish his work here for this season as a minimum. think he willbe around for much longer yet, and when he does leave it will be for more glamourous shores than preston.
  21. i agree. a maximum 9 is doable, but i would definately take 7 if they were handed to me now. the defence is worrying at the mo. not our strongest place on the pitch to start with and its severely depleted by injuries. could be shipping a few goals over the coming weeks
  22. definately should be looking at a full house from these. glad we have a favourable fixture list over christmas after 2 top of the league challenges. why cant we get maximum points? we have the players and management team to do it. the only question marks remain over the injured players. looking mighty weak in defence at the moment
  23. not a cat in hells chance we will fill our allocation. especially now its a friday night.
  24. imo we should use the bulk of this to tie dickov down to a proper contract instead of this rolling thing he has going on
  25. That is an exceptional idea. latics branded ear plugs. surely we must be able to sell 2000+ of these given some of the drivel that gets spouted from the stands each week? where's sean jarvis when you need him?
