Fair play for coming up with the idea, a bit like an line scrap book, but please don't generalise people sitting in the main stand. just as all chaddy enders arn't chav's, all main standers are not moaning old farts. ive had a fair few run ins with these old farts over the years, as people will know, but i sit there because the view is better.

the trouble with a sat/evening season ticket only is that the fixtures only get released in june, after the season ticket deadline, meaning they couldnt possibly know how many matches such a ticket would be valid for. would you offer them at a discounted rate even after the discounted period is up? the whole point of the discount is to get money into the club early to help outwith summer running costs also, what would happen if,say, a sat game got called off and rearanged for a tuesday night? i do agree it is an idea worth looking at though.

Hats off to the guy, he talks up our kids/fans/management/team mates/physios.... basically he hasnt a bad word to say about us. from that interview i would say he would see his contract out whatever happens. weather we are ten points clear and he has 20 goals by christmas, or we are struggling around mid table. lee hughes and oldham athletic have a very unique relationship. he owes us so much for what we have done for him, and i fully expect him to pay his dues and see out his contract.

i recon those stats are about right. when the questionnaire got done against tranmere asking people where they want to sit, it was a split of roughly 45% main stand, 45% rocky road end, and the remaining 10% in the chaddy. roughly anyway. last years uptake in the mainstand was around the 900 mark, as was the chaddy, but the rocky road end had none. so off those figures, the chaddy has lost around 150 (nodoubt moved to the rocky) while the mainstand and the rocky have gained around 600 each from the lookers. obviously not scientific, and there are no released figures to back any claims up, but i reckon its about right.

Sounds like a good idea that tram driver, run a comp to see who presses the button that blows it up, but its not a tower and they wont be blowing it up. it will be coming down over the coarse of a week or two, like they did with the roxy, and i certainly aint sitting there for two week freezin me nads off at night while they take it down brick by brick. maybe they could give away the bricks tho.

Taylor is a very good player at our level, regardless of what Derek says . However, even if we had ronaldo in our team, he aint going to have that much affect on our final league position if he hasnt got the team around him. I would rather have a top two finishing team without Taylor, than a play offs or lower team with him. If the cash from his sale allows us to bring in two or three players who will give us the edge next season and build on what we have, then so be it.

As regards McDonalds Ed, they are duty bound to use toys supplied direct from the central warehousing depots. McDonalds have a contract with disney, and various other Organisations, in which it states all stores must participate if owned by the company. franchise outlets are open to act as they see fit, but all branches in oldham are owned by mcdonalds, and as such, governed by the contract. know this cos i used to work at elk mill as a manager in my student days. As regards planning permission, every advert placed on such boards as that seen at the top of sheepfoot lane has to gain what is called a "decent exposure certificate", or be produced by a company holding a "certified publishing outlet" licence. Latics currently do not hold this licence, and to pass certain adverts through the decent exposure system takes time, and money, and each advert has to be processed individually, meaning you couldnt one week, adveretise oldham v mk dons, then the following week advertise oldham versus stockport. not under the same certificate anyway. I was told this information by the brother in law who, before moving to aus, worked in the planning department at rochdale council. These certificates are effectionatly known as planning permission. so although they are not quite covered by planning permission as we know it, it aint far off.

Taylor made his name in the latter end of moore's reign, and the beginning of shez's. both on the right. i agree he isnt anything like his best when on the left, but give him a chance on the right to show what he can do before you label him "over rated"
