  1. do we have a red in our mist Derek?
  2. Leeds United, quite frankly, have made a mockery of League one this season. Swansea, however much you dislike all they stand for, have walked this league this season, and deserve their moment in the spotlight. however, who do we find ourselves talking about? Its a disgrace. how can you possibly plan for the playoffs when you havent got a clue who will be playing in them? Leeds United, a club who loves to be hated
  3. wrong there lees. do you not remember him scoring and running the full length of the touchline infront of the mainstand??
  4. for once i agree eddie. I am definatly all in favour of shez, but i think if we find ourselves in the same position next year you will find many more latics fans wanting shez out. most fans have said tho that they will give him until christmas to get it right, alot have said until the end of next season. Personally I will give him until this time next year, but i have full faith that with the squad we are slowly building, and with a fully fit hughes, we will be up their next year.
  5. Man Utd or Man City - Not much choice here really but a few mates support em and I really dont like city Liverpool or Everton - Always prefered them over Liverpool, always under achieved in my time. Arsenal or Tottenham - Brothers in laws support spurs. we look out for them and they look out for us. been to a few games in my time. Southampton or Portsmouth - Portsmouth are one of those clubs i dont like and i cant of the life of me think why Newcastle or Sunderland - Again not much choice but Sunderland have Keane and I dont like him Rangers or Celtic - Dont follow scottish footy, but Rangers, i recall won everything when i was a kid so I will choose Celtic. Real Madrid or Barcelona - Play the better footy, and Real always seem to chuck good money after bad which i dont like. Ajax or Feyenord - Ajax, purely cos ive been on a tour of their ground. do i look like i know anything about dutch footy? AC Milan or Juventus - I dont like Italian teams so another difficult one, but Tommy Picked AC and I cant be bothered changing the bold. But Why not AC v Inter? Bristol Rovers or Bristol City - Always the underdog in Bristol Boca or River Plate - Who? Dortmund or Schalke - Im getting bored now,
  6. It all depends really. personally I think the turning point has already been. the takeover by tta was mine. although its not quite come together on the pitch yet, i feel the finances of the club are in a much better order than ever before, and the youth set up is producing the goods. the redevelopment is around the corner and its all thanks to tta. Everything about the club is geared to success, we just need to get it together on the pitch and the signs have been there this season. If Micah moves on, I honestly cant see us spending millions on the squad, and I dont think I would want that. If it went wrong that would be it. another 15 yrs in the doldrums. What I think it would do however is give us much more bargaining power when it comes to wages and bonus'. I.E, we maybe wouldnt have lost Kilkenny, or Wellens, or Porter.
  7. OAFC Performance of the season Everton is up there but for sheer football, and ripping the oppo apart it has to be leeds away OAFC Goal of the season: Allott against Orient OAFC Player of the season: Mark Allott. OAFC Young player of the season: Smalley. took alot of stick but has a never say die atitude, and has a bit of skill as well OAFC best opponent (best team I've seen this season): Doncaster (even though we have matched them this season) Best opposing player I've seen this season: I never take notice of them tbh, they are either good or goof Best away ground: Everton Worst away ground: Cheltenham OAFC Comedy moment award: Leeds fans walking out 20 mins early Worst Performance of the season: Swindon away Worst moment of the season: Walsall at home. the realisation of just how bad this league is, yet we cant beat a team like that OAFC My moment of the season: Swansea at hame. False hope now i look back

large section is defo latics next year. meaning only 1800 away tickets available. i sense many forest/sheff weds/leeds/rochdale/stockport fans in the home end next year. the club must have thought about this surely?
  9. question is will leeds still want him if they go up?
  10. a mate has a st for the chaddy end, but sits with us in the main stand every home game. the ticket collectors dont check the tickets. however, a season ticket is obviously vastly different from a standard ticket so in this case it would be an issue
  11. i think its a good idea as well tbh. it might actually add a few to the gate. cheltenham wont bring many, and although some might want to stay in the lookers for the last ever game, i think it would be more about fans from the chaddy/mainstand seeing what it is like.
  12. transfer window is closed, and i cant see how anyone would know a deal will be struck in the future? surely once a deal is agreed it gets signed, then announced? and i cant see paul scholes discussing something of this nature over a game of golf
  13. Correct Lags, but the Second placed entry has since informed us they are unable to attend the awards dinner, making their entry nul and void.

  15. If you notice, the origional poster is a new member of OWTB and as such wont have read through pages and pages of "shez out" or "shez in" threads. we won on sat so there havent been any for a while. as you say BB80, it hasnt been disgussed about shez walking away. Personally i cant see it, we are a club moving forward, and in the past the 3 Amigos have heavily backed Shez. how many other clubs would back him in this way, and still give him another deal at the end of the season if things dont quite go our way? At the moment i think we have struck exactly the right balence at the club. we dont throw silly money around, but still invest where we feel it is warrented. we dont sack managers after a season if it doesnt go our way (a good thing although some would disagree) yet i couldnt see us giving a manager limitless time to succeed. We are building through youth slowly but surely and both the on foeld squad and the off field arrangements are more solid than they have ever been. very few would disagree with this looking at the wider picture
  16. The time has come to announce the winners of The Awards Dinner Competition. After some cracking entries, and... er... some not so cracking ones, it gives the staff of OWTB great pleasure to crown Nervous_Tic the caption competition winner. Nervous_Tic will now be our guest at the Oh When The Blues table, and will also be joined by Chris Taylor, who OWTB and its members proudly sponsor. Nervous_Tic's winning entry, you ask? " Jason, Frank & Trev required a little more choreography before they could spell 'YMCA'." Again, we're pleased to announce that the second prize goes to Lags, and he too will join us on the night, thanks to his entry: "Jarrett: One for the job centre Sinclair: I'm a celebrity get me out of here! Kettle: sorry Frank this planes booked for Ritchie." It has been requested that we post all the entries up again, so people can browse through them. These will appear later tonight. Congratulations again to both Nervous_Tic and Lags, we (well, some of us) shall see you there on the night.
  17. outside the box lewis is the complete player. his hold up play is second to none and his strength is that of someone far more experienced than himself. To think what this lad will be like in three years really excites me. IMO he has more potential than any other young player to play at our club in the last 17 years ive been watchin latics, and if Eardley is worth £500,000 we will be rich if we came to sell Lewis in a couple of years time. mind you, knowing our luck he will be out for 18 months injured as of next week
  18. 19. they would want 200 grand at least for le fondre, looking at previous strikers they have sold. not within our budget i would imagine. only heard good things about him tho. personally i would forget about signing actual players from rockydale, but i wouldnt mind signing their attackin coach, what with some of the forward players that have come out of spotland in recent years.
  20. as a opposed to some dodgy (rich) place in the south east he is living away from home now, he wont be mithered about going anywhere. its the life of a footballer that, although i do agree oldham would have more pulling power in his book than somewhere else.
  21. ill have one please mr beard. possibly more after ive spoken to kidders and the others who went to everton. ill edit this post if i want more. cheers bud
  22. if they had priced season tickets in the main stand paddock at £250, they would have been mobbed. all the lookers paddock season ticket holders would have snapped them up, and you have to remember there isnt that much room left in there in the first place. half the ground would want to go in there at that price. on your other point, setting the earlybird price at £225 would lose the club approx £187,000 compared to the deal they have announced. in all honesty i dont think it would make that much difference. thee only way to make a difference to the up take imo would have been to do an udders, and im not to sure that would have such a dramatic impact at latics.
