  1. i would keep them both, until we stop selling our better players we will forever remain in this league
  2. while i agree it may not be the best approach, to get that wound up about it is just comical, and smacks of you having a go for the sake of it.
  3. In the eyes of some, the club simply can do no right. damned if you do and damned if you dont
  4. From a fully fit squad, and of the players who have been here this season, my team would be: GK Crossley RB Eardley LB Lomax CB Trotman CB Hazell LW Livermore RW Taylor CM Allott CM Kilkenny ST Hughes ST Allessandra subs Pogi Davies Macca Stam Smalley
  5. a mate of mine, who is a season ticket holder at old trafford, reckons we might see Scholes aat boundary park sooner rather than later. as the artical mentions, Anderson is coming to the fore now, and In his opinion, Scholes' best days are well and trully behind him. apparently Paul has another year after this season left on his contract, but the feeling amongst most red fans is that he could go in summer. he has only been a bit part player this year, and they dont want him to end up playing reserve team footbal at the end of his career. The only thing standing in the way of Scholes becoming a latics player in the summer is the fact Fergie wants to keep him as a coach. As I say, this is just the opinion of one United fan, but he reckons he talks for the Majority at Old Trafford.
  6. thats different tho ed, you haven't got a season ticket this year. your reason for not having one is understandable. the poll is more aimed at current season ticket holders. if someone has had a season ticket for the last 15 years, (unless there are mitigating circumstances) i find it laughable they can say it is too expensive even before the price structure has been announced.
  7. welcome to OWTB Jim. your just one step away from being validated. if you fill in the following questions i will be able to open your account Here's how to get validated! 1. Copy the following questions. Name? Location? How Long Supporting the Tics? Best away match you've been to? All Time Greatest Player? Biggest Rivals (in your eyes)? OR, if you're an away fan: Name? Fan of? How long a supporter? All time favourite player? Favourite match v Oldham? Regards, Phill OWTB Team
  8. funny how only 4 say they arnt renewing, yet there are seven reasons given as to why they are not renewing
  9. i could understand "too expensive" if the prices had been announced, but until they have its all guess work, so to say its too expensive at this moment in time is daft
  10. I would go all out to sign livermore in summer, looks comfortable wherever he plays, and could just be the left winger we have been looking for
  11. i dont really think "too expensive" is an acceptable reason for putting not renewing in this poll. for all we know latics might do a bradford next year
  12. he was running towards the main stand touchline, effectively away from goal when he was brought down so he was never going to get the red card for "stopping a goalscoring opportunity or whatever they call it. the tackle on its own was a bad one, but not sufficiently bad to produce a red card imo
  13. i do get it. i get the fact that bringing in a whole load of new players each year unbalances the team and it takes us until ten games in to get the ball rolling. in the summer i would let two players go (gregan and Liddell) and replace them with 4 players. these being a goalkeeper (back up), left winger, creative midfielder and striker (back up). We dont need to replace Smalley, he shouldnt be a first team regular at this stage of his career, and wouldnt be but for injuries. and why would you sell Eardley, chancing finding a decent left back when our back line is solid, and can form the basis of a promotion push next year?
  14. so basically rip the squad appart, replace them with a whole load of new entities and start back at square one, and finish mid table again, but at least then we can just shout for shez's head
  15. Some of our fans need to take a good look at some of the comments being made both on here, and in the pub/ground. Since the final whistle i have heard some trully daft comments. A comment of 'Shez in' was replied to with " your a misguided fool". just please explain why someone is a misguided fool for not wanting to sack the manager? Walking up Sheepfoot lane I heard someone say "sack the board, they arnt willing to put money into the team". IMO a trully laughable comment. Another comment on here was "shez is the worst manager since Warnock". well imo Warnock was a far better manager than Wadsworth, Talbot and Moore, and Shez is better than all of them. People are not happy unless the season goes right to the wire. i honestly believe some on here would rather go to a final day show down to stay up than have our season pitter out in midtable. we simply cannot expect to be involved season after season, and if it takes a season of finishing midtable, for us then to go on and have a real crack at it next year then so be it. Expectations for this season have been set way too high this year, especially with the loss of Wellens and Porter at the start of the season. If we are still in the same position next year (midtable) then i would be more inclined to agree that maybe we need to look at restructuring the management, but a season in midtable really isnt all that bad. A bit of respect is needed, both towards fellow fans, and players/management. we all want the same thing at the end of the day, but some seem to want it yesterday, and it simply doesnt work like that
  16. sounds like your supporting the team there. ok maybe we havent got the ability to gain a playoff berth this year, but remember the team is made up of players in their first and second proffessional seasons. there is a deffinate foundation to build on. that you must agree with?
  17. will someone please explain what the keeper did wrong. i thought it was bad marking and didnt put any blame on the keeper but this obviously seems to be wrong.
  18. All you can ask for is 100% effort. the team we fielded today was vastly weakened, but the effort was there. at the end of the day, we are probably going to fall at the final hurdle, but why does supporting the team til the final whistle of the season mean we are kidding ourselves?

  20. the argument isnt about what Liddell brings to the team, as without doubt he is the best crosser of the ball in the league imo. the question is how much pitch time he will get next year. he has been out for a long period of his three years with us, and he isnt getting any younger. imo he will simply be a fixture in the physio's room next year, and that, coupled with his above average wage demands means i wouldnt take the risk.

  22. would have prefered a swans win, but a draw isnt a bad result
  23. i have just watched the highlights of the forest game on OAFCguy's Blog. If you notice, Liddell puts a couple of cracking crosses in for the goals and thats what we have been missing this season. the thing is tho, that game was over a year ago, and Liddell hasnt put in that standard of cross consistantly since around Feb/March last year. tbh i have consistantly said i think Liddell needs replacing at the end of the season, as i personally think he is past it, but we need to replace him with an out and out winger. we simply have been far too narrow this year, and how many goals have been scored from a cross? this is the main area of contention in the close season i believe.
