Afterall, we know what rival supporters are like.....we wouldn't want this to escalate to the point where Chelsea fans are waving their Kenwood MasterChefs in the air while singing Celery, Celery, Celery would we...? Also, "You can shove your Effin Whisks right up your A**e", "You're not Whisking anymore" and "Who's the Fat Boy with the Whisk" etc could bring a level of emarrassment I wouldn't like to have to bear. martjs
That inflatable performance was definitely pedigree, chum! Some moaners would say it was a "dog's dinner" of a display... If it was resurrected people would want to know where the Yarddog holders were going to sit next season in case the offending inflatables blocked their view. oafc_ok
Agreed! I think the Yarddogs peaked at Walsall away. Anyone remember that? Quality. Definitely. Always remember looking across the terrace which was just a mass of spotty dogs. Excellent. I know a Latics fan who claims to have taken a paddling pool to Oxford at the height of the inflatable craze - does anyone remember seeing this? GuyGermanLatic
The Chaddy's spirit will always live on. I am really disappointed in the drummer (Josh) he's spoiling a tradition almost by making the move, the Chaddy has always been known for singing. My dad went watching the Tics in 1984 and he said they've always sang. I'll start off Chaddy songs ... () Can you hear the Rocky sing? No! No! Can you hear the Rocky sing? No! No! slystallone
Inflatables! Kitchen implements! Fancy dress! Nakedness! Anything to raise a smile and stop the negative vibes picked up last season. We'll maybe shy away from the whole nakedness thing, possibly while Will Hainings missus was around, but that 'bird' has flown now eh? On the randomness of some chants etc - me & my mates go on European footy trips, and when we were in Copenhagen catching them vs the mighty Viking SB, whenever Copenhagen won a corner or either a free kick or throw-in the final 1/3, all and i mean ALL the home fans got out their house/car keys - held them above their heads & just shook them.....really random.....no 'come on Copenhagen' chants or anything with it, just the shaking of the keys......now, i know it might not sound that impressive, but 5 thousand fans all doing it at the same time, it was pretty cool, by the second or third time they did it, me & my mates were swept up in it all, we asked what is was about, and the general response was 'why not?' Seems there no reason for it at all, but they are known throughout Danish football for doing it. Nutty chants or traditions, however random or 'silly' can breed notority.....so you never know, this whisk thing might just catch on - if it doesn't, there's always keys to shaken & jangled!!!!
