dec666
Would really like to know if all the Oldham lads are ok. Looked quite bad from where i was with groups of County fans running in.
Max Damage
Saw a few in the main stand marched passed us with one in handcuffs. They looked alright to me.
Tommy_Fent
my mates (County fans who I had to give a lift home to) were right near it, they said they've never seen anything like it. Apparantly people covered in blood and everything, it's their own fault really I just hope we dont get a fine for this
Frankly Mr Shankly
Saw a few in the main stand marched passed us with one in handcuffs. They looked alright to me. Looked a right old barney. To be honest, seen far worse. Blackpool in 1997 was tasty.
Frankly Mr Shankly
I take it those Latics fans in the Cheadle end got past the Stockport Trivia ring of steel at the ticket offices then?
monkeykieran
Once the stewards had ripped them from under the boots of the fans I saw 3 or 4 people (I think a woman included) being escorted away all able to walk but covered in blood. Not sure there were any other taken away in a different direction

We went in the Popular Side and apart from a couple of minor incidents it was fine.
opinions4u
1) Stockport should have allocated Latics an extra block in the Pop Side (400 ish?). 2) Idiots in the Cheadle End had it coming to them.

rosa
Looked a right old barney. To be honest, seen far worse. Blackpool in 1997 was tasty. First and last time i went to blackpool. Was a bit worrying, mainly cos their ground's so decrepit i thought people might rip the concrete off the terracing and chuck it at each other. Not sure Gordon's verdict on LW was the most tactful: "Serves 'em right. Should have given us more tickets." He's right but you shouldn't really say it on the official site... I can't believe more hasn't been made about this farce. In this day and age Stockport's ignorance is unacceptable. Trouble was always going to happen and that should never be the case. Especially at a League One game in front of less than 8,500. Shameful.
leeslover
There are two sides to this. 1) Stockport should have sorted more tickets out for Latics 2) Latics fans who went in home ends should have have taken care to seat themselves well out of any potentially dodgy areas, and shut the :censored: up when we scored. The failure of Stockport to do item (1) doesn't really excuse Latics for not folllowing (2). None of the above justifies Stockport fans laying into people, but it is sensible to avoid certain circumstances, and I hope that no people got hurt in the events who were being sensible but got dragged into things caused by people acting like knobs. They were never going to sell out so why not give us the whole of that stand on the side like we've had in the past?? Not doing so was directly responsible for trouble that ensued. Macca
Didn't see any fighting from where I was, couldn't really see what was going on at the bottom. Just seemed like they were surrounding them down there, police took an absolute age from the other side of the ground. It had it coming, hopefully Stockport will now wake up to whats happened. No doubt it'll all be our fault.

Not doing so was directly responsible for trouble that ensued. Not really, it was indirectly responsible for it perhaps. The trouble was still caused directly by away fans making themselves known at an innappropriate time and the more fighty home fans reacting. It could have been avoided with better decisions, but it wasn't caused by the ticketing decision.
dec666
I was in the Pop Stand away section, i went up to the turnstiles and said is this the Away end of the Pop Stand and he said yes, i had to walk all the way across the stand to get to the Oldham section, the divide was a bit of police tape it was shocking! pukka
the good news for leeds, and huddersfield fans is we've probably ensured that they will get a larger allocation.
leeslover
Of course it was caused by the ticketing decision! They wouldn't have been in the home end if they could have got tickets for the away end unless they are the type of brainless idiots who would have gone in the home end anyway. Your argument seems to be along the same lines as saying a woman deserves to get raped because she's dresses provocatively. Of course it's not the wisest thing to celebrate a goal in the home end but I did it once when we scored a last minute equaliser at Bury and sometimes you forget where you are. I cordially invite you to investigate the meaning of the words, "directly," and, "indirectly." And your rape analogy is utterly tasteless - it compares the supposed "provocation" of a woman dressing attractively and the sick bastard who sees that as an invite to assault her with a football fan going into a place that he knows he isn't meant to be, and then rubbing it in the faces of the people who are meant to be there when they are feeling totally gutted by their team conceding a goal. Same thing, innit?

No roof. There was only an atmosphere in the first half but it was never going to travel. Bit like there was only an atmosphere in the County end the last 5 of the first and the 2nd half. Bit like there was only an atmosphere in the County end the last 5 of the first and the 2nd half. thats what i was thinking was it the roof but then again we didnt really create much to get the fans going did we so 1st loss of the season lets bounce back thats the main thing!!!! could you see anything of the fighting??? hope that woman is ok tho... got caught right in the middle of it... i only blame county for the 2000 tickets what was they thinking!!!! Bit like there was only an atmosphere in the County end the last 5 of the first and the 2nd half. So the reason there was no atmosphere yesterday was because there was no roof? The reason the Chaddy End makes no noise is apparently because there is a roof. When will we stop blaming the roof and admit that the reason there is no atmosphere is because the vast majority don't make any attempt to create one? Forte_Baby
http://www.footballforums.net/forums/showt...983#post3730983 According to this site a County fan says one supporter had part of his ear bitten off. What made me laugh was it took the police a good few mins before they went and helped out. Sad remember when we beat them 2-1 on the same day United lost 2-0 at home to Arsenal and both Oldham and County fans celebrated together. In the pub before the game Oldham and County fans sharing a beer. Sadly i can see further restrictions being imposed or GMP making the game all ticket in future. I went into the Swansea home end last season but kept my mouth shut all game.
