ghostofcecere
What were the reasons for it being Failsworth and not a redevelopment of Boundary Park?

ghostofcecere
Yeah but in what way? We own BP so no costs of buying land..... but we need to buy part of the Failsworth site from BAE.
leeslover
Yeah but in what way? We own BP so no costs of buying land..... but we need to buy part of the Failsworth site from BAE. Erm, we can sell/build on all of BP if we move and buy the Failsworth site for less.
opinions4u
You can flog houses for more in suburban Royton than you could in inner-city Failsworth. (wonder if that'll stir up any Failsworthites?)
oafc0000
About a year ago we could raise x by selling a small amount of the land.. Now if we want to raise x we need to sell the whole site... That is the stated reason...

Thank you 0000....... who would have thought an area the size of a football pitch in Royton could be worth so much! Anyone would think it was in Kensington and Chelsea

slurms mckenzie
I guess the TTA aren't interested in the RUBS cycle. Edited October 29, 2009 by slurms mckenzie

As in, TTA can walk away with more of it by moving us to Failsworth.

Lee Sinnott
What were the reasons for it being Failsworth and not a redevelopment of Boundary Park? What? We're moving to Failsworth? What happened to Sports Park 2000?
real
As in, TTA can walk away with more of it by moving us to Failsworth. Or walk away without having lost a lot of it? The BP site will fit about 300 houses. If you can find a way to buy the failsworth land and build a stadium and then have cash left over, then you deserve it. (what it's worth for 3/4 of it with a footy ground compared to all of it with no ground, is probably 50%, probably similar reasons for switching from flats to houses - they'd have stood more chance of getting more money for flats on 3/4 than they would with housing, but the bottom has dropped out of new build flats. A development of 300 or so 3/4 bed semis/detatcheds is probably the best way to use the whole site.)
