Macca
Just had a quick look and in the 45 competative games we've had we've managed 10 wins, 15 draws and 20 defeats. That is well and truly bottom of the league stuff I think you'll agree. That is shocking.

Bearing in mind you're normally looking at 50 points to stay up, then going into that last game we'd be either down or needing a win to stay up. Hardly a surprise though, I don't think anyone's kidding themselves that we're not in a relegation battle.

RobOAFC
I'm not shocked. The club has well and truly run out of steam. True, we have been punching above our wait currently for last few years. Which we could still do if we was an attacking team instead a bunch of defensive idiots

Which we could still do if we was an attacking team instead a bunch of defensive idiots It's been coming a lot longer than the last few years, though. The real problem is why we've so quickly come to regard ourselves as puching above our weight in the third division. The scale of the decline since 1994 is what's truly shocking and reveals a staggering level of incompetence and sheer cluelessness at boardroom level throughout the period. Which we could still do if we was an attacking team instead a bunch of defensive idiots Punching above our weight? I'd say that if we were currently lying 18th in the Championship. We've had 1 possibly 2 big chances at getting out of this league both under Sheridan and blown them twice. We've been "cutting the cloth" ever since. Yes the fall is shocking, and the poor boardroom decisions have speeded up this decline, but in more recent years, we have been punching above our weight on a small budget compared to others in this league, Punching above our weight? Compared to other teams budgets, and teams in this division, we are relatively small, & this is where we have been for any years in the bottom half apart from the years when chris moore was throwing ridiculous money about that we didnt have, and when sheridan put together a good squad on a small budget which would attack

We probably spent more money in the close season than any other team. Yet most are above us. Edited December 4, 2009 by Butter
