OldhamSheridan
Probably started in the eighties, but can't remember it*. Andy Ritchie by an absolute mile. So far he come second and third too. Then, well Sheridan (but most go for the other old man). *The date. We beat Walsall 3-0 methinks in front of about 11 people. It's even worse with youngsters who support Oldham. I guess Johnstone people do the same with me though...

oafcprozac
Bloody missed him after we got rid though didn't we? Wasn't until we signed Carlo, then Clyde that we had a striker again capable of holding a ball up and then later Porter. (I won't count Killen as he was always crocked!) That's English for "Stop a horse". I never said he was a bad player. But player of the decade? Seriously? We were only pish for the last 3 years or so of the 90's. What about the players we had between 1990 and 1994?

oafcprozac
Hatrick at Notts County was a good one as well But the one at Scum Trafford is defo his best. Actually I think the rocket that completed his hat-trick at Meadow Lane was his best, that ball would still be travelling now - as good as his goal at old Trafford was. I was lucky enough to be at both. One knack McCarthy had was chasing down the keeper and forcing mistakes, the amount of absolute tap-ins he scored - Portsmouth, Derby and the best comedy goal ever at Stoke were just down to his sheer presence. He was an old school bustler that needed better service than he got.

I was at Watersheddings that day listening to GMR on my radio if memory serves me correctly. Edited December 18, 2009 by oafc0000
