BP1960
Maybe with hindsight, but it looks like Lee Hughes would have scored enough goals to take Latics into at least mid table. So was it a mistake not to offer him the money required to retain him, some may say the financial losses the club have incurred since he left (due to poor results affecting crowds) would total more than the cost of keeping him ? Bring Back Ronnie Moore
You don't need to consider the financial aspect as he wasn't our top earner to understand that he should have never been released. 18 goal strikers don't just come around willy nilly. opinions4u
Parker / Hughes up front? Would give the midfield something to aim for wouldn't it? With the benefit of hindsight, clearly it would have been worth every penny. Pav / Heff will work if it happens though.
Crusoe
Why do you think he left? Was it really only about money? I don't recall that being made clear at the time.
Latics_Fanatic
Hughes would have buried that chance Parker ballooned over most of them chances today.
