He wasn't a goalscorer at the time! .and it's a very long list of those have signed that have failed to make an impact. palmer1
He wasn't a goalscorer at the time! .and it's a very long list of those have signed that have failed to make an impact. didnt he score 3 in 5 for the prison side before he got sent off once a goalscorer always a goalscorer, the supply has to be there though and thats what we have lacked more than anything and we have signed many forwards but not a great deal of goalscorers ala beckett, porter, hughes

Luke2Good
Yea would welcome him back, but doubt we could afford wages. I heard he was on about £8k a week.

outoftheblue
didnt he score 3 in 5 for the prison side before he got sent off That makes him a Gaol Scorer, rather than a Goal Scorer

Lags
I would be highly surprised if he was on 8K a week. Prob nearer what he was on here but with the longer contract he wanted. Just as an aside regarding wages. Vinny Jones was on 5 live the other day (anyone listen to the Richard Bacon show?) He told how when Wimbledon beat ManScum with him hitting the winner he was on £150 a week and at the height of the crazy gang fame he was on £500 a week. He went on to say his wife is friendly with a current league One player and when he was told how much he was on (not named) he couldn't believe it and that he never ever earned anywhere near it. That's what's wrong with football, players wages.
Scapegoat
Given where we are - Lee Hughes would be a wonderful signing and one that would likely ensure we had a comfortable run to safety. However if County are looking to move him on and save whatever wages he is on, then they'll be clubs in better positions and with more money than we can offer. Nice idea - cannot see it happening.
